It has been a rough start to the season for Ty Dillon in his first year with Spire Motorsports. Through the first seven races of the year, the #77 team has six finishes of 30th or worse with a best result of 23rd in the Atlanta race back in March. Despite that, though, there is some optimism within this #77 team this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway. This weekend's dirt race at Bristol has likely been circled on the calendar by Ty for a while. He finished 10th in this race last season, and thought he underachieved. A dirt race can cause a leveling of the playing field, and Ty agrees. He recently said, "My eyes are set on winning, not just trying to have a good day. I grew up dirt racing, so this is my natural style. It's something that I think we can take advantage of." Dillon will start 32nd in Sunday's Food City Dirt Race.--Jordan McAbee
