Joe Ryan Earns Win Over Royals

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Joe Ryan allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings pitched on Saturday night to help his club defeat the Royals 9-2. The right-hander surrendered five hits and two walks while striking out six in the 79-pitch effort, with the only damage against coming off an Andrew Benintendi RBI single in the third. He did also load the bases in the sixth before Caleb Thielbar recorded the final out of the frame as Ryan went on to earn the victory to improve his record to 5-2. The 25-year-old has turned out to be a terrific draft-day value as he'll take a 2.28 ERA and 0.99 WHIP into his next start versus the same Royals squad next week.
