The 28-year-old suffered a flexor tendon injury in his right arm in the postseason last year. He didn't need surgery and was placed on the 10-day injured list to begin the season. McCullers owned a career-low 3.16 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, 185 strikeouts, and a league-high 76 walks in 162 1/3 innings over 28 starts in 2021.
