Fantasy Football Trade Outlooks

Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider trading for or trading away heading into Week 8:

Brock Bowers, TE, Raiders
Trade Value: 48.9
ROS Rank: 43

Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro tight end Brock Bowers (knee) has missed the last three games as he recovers from the bone bruise and PCL injury he sustained in the season opener, but according to head coach Pete Carroll, he's expected to return to the field following the team's Week 8 bye.

The Raiders are coming off one of the worst offensive performances in recent history, managing fewer than 100 total yards in a 31-0 shellacking from the Kansas City Chiefs, so for multiple reasons, the bye week comes at a good time. Bowers caught five of eight targets for 103 yards in Week 1, but was clearly limited in his next three outings, lacking his trademark explosiveness as he played with a knee brace.

Rather than risk further injury, the team made the decision to shut him down until he's fully healthy, and he is now in line to play in Week 9 against the Jaguars. While he may need to work himself back into game shape, he should still be inserted right back into starting lineups, as the upside he offers at the position is practically unmatched across the league.

Verdict: Buy low if you still can; he's the unquestioned TE1 overall when healthy

Rhamondre Stevenson, RB, Patriots
Trade Value: 32.2
ROS Rank: 71

New England Patriots running back Rhamondre Stevenson has solidified himself as the clear workhorse in the backfield. Through seven games, Stevenson has totaled 69 carries for 245 yards and three touchdowns, while adding 15 receptions for 154 yards through the air.

He showcased his trademark power running style in Week 7, rumbling for 88 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries against the Tennessee Titans. Many expected rookie TreVeyon Henderson to see an expanded role following Antonio Gibson's season-ending knee injury, but that hasn't materialized. Over the last two games, Stevenson has dominated the workload, playing 77% of the snaps, compared to Henderson's 15%.

While Stevenson remains the lead back, fantasy managers should still proceed with caution, as any given week could feature a change in the backfield rotation, especially with the team's second-round investment in Henderson. For Week 8, Stevenson projects as a high-end RB3 against the Cleveland Browns, who boast one of the toughest run defenses in the league.

Verdict: Sell high if you can; avoid acquiring unless you're desperate for an RB3

DJ Moore, WR, Bears
Trade Value: 24.1
ROS Rank: 94

Chicago Bears wide receiver D.J. Moore (hip) did not participate in practice on Wednesday, according to the team. Moore cleared the injury report ahead of Chicago's Week 7 game against the Saints after being hospitalized following the Week 6 win at Washington, but he enters this week in a similar situation.

The 28-year-old has gotten off to a slow start this season, surpassing 50 receiving yards in only one game, which came in Week 1. The team has trended more run-heavy out of the bye week, and Moore has earned some rushing work, with nine rushes for 34 yards for the season.

That said, he's fallen behind second-year WR Rome Odunze as the team's top target in the passing game. Moore's injury status should become clearer as the week goes along.

Verdict: Sell if you can; avoid acquiring unless you're desperate for a WR4

Aaron Jones Sr., RB, Vikings
Trade Value: 25.4
ROS Rank: 91

Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones Sr. (hamstring) is considered questionable to be activated from Injured Reserve to make his return in Week 8 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday Night Football, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Vikings opened Jones' 21-day practice window on Tuesday, and he was listed as a limited practice participant the last two days, suggesting that he'll likely be held out for another week. The 30-year-old has been on IR since suffering a hamstring injury back in the Week 2 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

If he ends up being activated and suiting up on Thursday night in Los Angeles, it wouldn't be a surprise if he's the second option out of the backfield behind Jordan Mason, who has been operating as the team's lead back with Jones out. If Jones stays on IR this week, his next chance to return would come in Week 9 versus the division-rival Detroit Lions.

Verdict: Buy low for bench depth; better weeks are ahead for this projected RB4

Who Should I Trade For?

Week 8 Trade Decisions. Today's focus is on specific players - Kyren Williams, Brock Bowers, Rhamondre Stevenson, DJ Moore, Aaron Jones Sr., Jonathan Taylor. These are some key fantasy football names heading into this week's matchups.

Using The Trade Values. This is a simple trade value tool, but very powerful. In our fantasy football trade value rankings above, you will see the Trade Value for each player. The higher the number, the higher the priority for targeting in trades. Players with a high trade value number are players that you should be targeting more in trades.

How It Works. Each week, our RotoBaller staff puts together their weekly fantasy football rankings, projections, and trade values based on their research. That information is the core data that is powering the decision-making in this trade value rankings.

How To Calculate Trades. Fantasy football managers will make 1-for-1 trades, or 2-for-3 trades, or 3-for-2 trades, or many other combinations. For each side of the deal, add the trade values together. Whichever side has a higher total number wins the trade. For example, if someone is offering you three players, add the trade values of those three players together. Does the value of those three players exceed the values of the player(s) you are trading away? If so then it's a good deal for you.
