Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 8:
Nico Collins, WR, Texans
The Houston Texans announced that wide receiver Nico Collins (concussion) was downgraded to out in Monday night's Week 7 game against the Seattle Seahawks after suffering a concussion early in the fourth quarter. Collins' helmet hit the turf when he came down on a contested catch in Seattle, and he will now enter the league's concussion protocol.
On a short week, it's possible that he will not be cleared in time for Sunday's Week 8 tilt against the San Francisco 49ers. Before leaving, Collins caught only four of his 10 targets for 27 yards. Tight end Dalton Schultz led Houston in receiving on Monday night, catching nine of 10 targets for 98 yards, and could be in for another big workload in Week 8 if Collins doesn't get the green light.
In addition to Schultz, rookie wideouts Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins, and Xavier Hutchinson would be in line for more targets if Collins misses additional time. Noel was second in receiving on Monday night with four grabs for 77 yards on seven targets.
Chimere Dike, WR, Titans
Tennessee Titans rookie wide receiver Chimere Dike had his best game as a pass catcher in Week 7 against New England, catching all four of his targets for 70 yards and his first touchdown as a pro. Dike now has at least two receptions in three straight games and continues to make an impact on special teams, leading the league in kick return yards.
With veteran Calvin Ridley (hamstring) sidelined in Week 7, Dike ran a season-high 66.7% of the team's routes and hauled in a 38-yard touchdown pass from fellow rookie Cameron Ward. Dike is a solid speculative add as the Titans go on the road to Indianapolis in Week 8.
Luke McCaffrey, WR, Commanders
Washington Commanders second-year wide receiver Luke McCaffrey entered the Week 7 contest against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday with a prime opportunity to break out with both Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Deebo Samuel Sr. (heel) sidelined. That unfortunately did not happen, though, as McCaffrey finished with no catches on just two targets in the 44-22 loss on the road.
It was a disappointing showing after the 24-year-old had three touchdowns in the previous four weeks. McCaffrey also had an injury scare in the blowout loss to Dallas, which could have contributed to his quiet day against a porous secondary. Even if McLaurin and Samuel miss more time, McCaffrey is hard to trust as a boom/bust deep threat for the Commanders, especially with quarterback Jayden Daniels (hamstring) dealing with another injury and not slated to play in Week 8.
McCaffrey hasn't had more than three targets in any of his seven games in 2025.
Ricky Pearsall, WR, 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers will continue to monitor wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) this week, and there is no certainty that he will return to face the Houston Texans on Sunday in Week 8, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN. Pearsall sprained his knee in the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars and has missed the last two games as a result.
It sounds like the former first-rounder is in danger of missing a third straight game in Week 8, too, depending on how much he can do at practice this week. The 25-year-old didn't practice at all last week, so he'll just be trying to get on the practice field this week as the team begins preparations for the Texans. With Pearsall out, Jauan Jennings and Kendrick Bourne have been the team's top two wideouts, but most of quarterback Mac Jones' passes have been going to do-it-all running back Christian McCaffrey.
