Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 13:
Brenton Strange, TE, Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Brenton Strange returned from the Injured Reserve in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals and showed no signs of rust. He converted on all five of his targets for 93 receiving yards. Strange has always been a favorite target of quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and given their history together, Strange provides a reasonable floor as a tight end in PPR formats.
His upside will be limited by the cluttered pass-catching room that now includes Brian Thomas Jr. (ankle), Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington, and Strange. And while Lawrence is not the type of quarterback to make all of those pass-catchers a great fantasy play weekly, Strange's rapport with Lawrence provides a floor that makes him worth an add if you are struggling at the tight end position or lost Tucker Kraft (knee) or Sam LaPorta (back) to injury.
Fantasy teams in a pinch, deep leagues, or even two flex spots can also consider Strange for that role. On the season, he's hauled in 25 of his 29 receptions for 297 yards in six games (one of which he was injured early on and did not return).
Hunter Henry, TE, New England Patriots
New England Patriots tight end Hunter Henry caught seven of his 10 targets for 115 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's Week 12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals. It's no secret that Cincinnati is the worst team in the NFL when it comes to defending opposing tight ends, and Henry capitalized on this favorable matchup.
The veteran entered this week as the overall TE13 in PPR leagues, but he jumped all the way into the top five on Sunday afternoon. He's unlikely to replicate this outing next Thursday against the New York Giants, but he's still worth starting as a low-end TE1 in fantasy football.
Juwan Johnson, TE, New Orleans Saints
New Orleans Saints tight end Juwan Johnson isn't the sexiest name by any means at his position, primarily because he resides in a Saints offense that is tied for last in the league with 15 points scored per game. However, Johnson has been the No. 2 option in the passing game in New Orleans in 2025 behind receiver Chris Olave, and he enters Week 13 action tied with Hunter Henry at 8.7 half-PPR fantasy points per contest.
The 29-year-old had touchdown catches in back-to-back games going into the Week 12 loss to the Atlanta Falcons, including a season-high 92 receiving yards before the team's Week 11 bye. On Sunday, Johnson had six catches (second-most in a game this year) on seven targets for 46 yards against Atlanta.
His 67 targets through 11 games in 2025 tie him for seventh at the TE position. Johnson will be in position as an intriguing low-end TE1 in fantasy in a plus matchup this weekend versus Miami. He is on pace for a career-best season.
Harold Fannin, TE, Cleveland Browns
Cleveland Browns rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. led the team with four catches (six targets) for 40 yards in a Week 12 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. After running just 48.5% of the team's routes in Week 11, his lowest in a game since Week 5, Fannin climbed back to 66.7% in Week 12 and paced the Cleveland passing attack in Shedeuer Sanders' first career start.
The rookie tight end played a season-high 89.6% of snaps and continued to showcase his exceptional tackle-breaking ability, forcing 11 missed tackles in the game, which is the most by a tight end in a game this season. Fannin mostly operates in a short area of the field to let him generate yards after the catch, and Sanders looked for him as a checkdown frequently.
The upside isn't super high for Fannin in a bad Cleveland offense, but he has been their most consistent pass catcher this season. He is worthy of a waiver add in 12-team leagues for fantasy managers looking for a tight end.
Kyle Pitts, TE, Atlanta Falcons
Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. recorded two catches for 25 scoreless yards in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Saints. While the result was disappointing, the silver lining was that with five targets, the 25-year-old led the team in that statistic. The same was true the last time Kirk Cousins was the starter in Week 8 against the Dolphins, a game that Drake London (knee) also missed as he did on Sunday.
It's not clear whether or not London will be back in Week 13, but if he were to miss the contest, Pitts could be the frontrunner for targets again, so it will be imperative to watch the injury reports this week. Cousins may spread the ball around a bit more than Michael Penix Jr. did, though, which could limit the production of the receiving corps, including Pitts.
The 6-foot-6 tight end has just one touchdown on the season, so even fewer targets could push him into TE2 territory for Week 13's matchup with the Jets, a defense that is middle of the pack in terms of fantasy points allowed to tight ends.
