Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 10:
Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard saw little involvement in the running game in Carolina's 16-13 surprise win over the Packers in Week 9. The Panthers' RB logged just 17 yards on five carries while registering 1.7 PPR fantasy points, his lowest in a single game this season.
Earlier in the week, head coach Dave Canales said that Rico Dowdle would be the team's starting running back and handle the majority of touches. Sunday's game proved that to be the case, as Hubbard only played on 16.7% of snaps while Dowdle went on to have his third game this year with over 28 PPR points.
Fantasy players should bench Hubbard until further notice as a handcuff to Dowdle, but also pay attention to any rumors about him being moved at the trade deadline this week. Another team may resurrect Hubbard's fantasy appeal, so fantasy players should be patient and not cut him yet.
Terry McLaurin, WR, Washington Commanders
The Washington Commanders aren't expecting wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) to play in the Week 10 contest against the Detroit Lions, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post. "I don't foresee (Terry McLaurin) making it for this weekend. Knowing it's game-game-bye, that has an effect. But I don't have a timetable today," head coach Dan Quinn said. McLaurin suffered a quad injury in Week 4 and missed four games.
When he returned in Week 8, the 30-year-old veteran aggravated the injury, and now he appears set to miss a second straight game this coming Sunday. The Commanders have their bye in Week 12, so it's entirely possible that we don't see McLaurin again until Week 13 on Sunday Night Football against the Denver Broncos.
In addition to McLaurin's injury, Washington may have lost quarterback Jayden Daniels on Sunday night to a dislocated left elbow. McLaurin's 2025 season so far has been a bust due to injuries, and he has only one touchdown on 13 receptions for 203 yards in four games.
Aaron Jones, RB, Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings running back Aaron Jones Sr. (shoulder, toe) is dealing with multiple injuries and was unable to practice on Wednesday. In addition to an AC joint sprain in his right shoulder that he suffered in the Week 9 win against the Detroit Lions, Jones is dealing with a toe issue that leaves his availability up in the air for this Sunday's home tilt versus the visiting Baltimore Ravens.
The 30-year-old veteran is truly questionable as of right now, and he'll likely need to get back on the practice field on either Thursday or Friday to avoid being ruled out in Week 10. If Jones is limited at all or out entirely this weekend, Jordan Mason would see the lion's share of backfield work and would elevate to RB2 status in fantasy football.
Jones has only played in four games so far in 2025 due to injuries and has yet to find the end zone as a runner, although he is averaging 5.1 yards per carry on his 27 rushing attempts.
Ricky Pearsall, WR, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said that wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) will not practice on Wednesday, per Matt Barrows of The Athletic. Pearsall has not practiced or played since spraining his PCL in the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he doesn't appear to be on track to make his long-awaited return this weekend for the divisional battle against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday in Week 10.
The 25-year-old former first-rounder is still rostered in 77% of Yahoo leagues, but he's running out of time to make an impact this year for his fantasy managers. And at this point, it's fair to wonder if even Brandon Aiyuk (knee) will be back with the Niners before Pearsall. In his four games played in 2025, Pearsall has 20 receptions for 327 yards and no touchdowns.
If Pearsall can't return this weekend, his next chance to play will come in Week 11 for another divisional affair against the Arizona Cardinals.
Christian Kirk, Rachaad White, Xavier Hutchinson,
Tank Bigsby, RB, Philadelphia Eagles
In the Philadelphia Eagles' final game before their Week 9 bye, star running back Saquon Barkley (groin) was forced to exit the game early due to a groin injury. That opened up an opportunity for Eagles back Tank Bigsby, who rushed for 104 yards on nine carries after taking over for Barkley.
Immediately after Philadelphia's Week 8 game concluded, Barkley told reporters he expected to be ready for Week 10. Still, Bigsby could play a larger role in the Eagles' offense if Barkley is limited or his injury proves to be more serious than initially expected.
Bigsby should be a waiver-wire target of fantasy managers in leagues with 12 or more teams heading into a Week 10 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
