Week 6 Outlooks For Fantasy Football

Chris Olave, New Orleans Saints - Fantasy Football Outlook

Expectations for New Orleans Saints wide receiver Chris Olave will have to be tempered in Week 6 with Derek Carr (oblique) lost to injury. Carr's fill-in, rookie Spencer Rattler, offered some reassurance in comments to the media after being named the starter when he stated his intent to feed Olave the ball.

That would be a welcome change from Week 5, when Olave was targeted four times, making two catches for a season-low 10 receiving yards, his worst game since his two-catch, 11-yard performance in Week 1. In the three weeks between, Olave gave fantasy managers more of what they were hoping for when they drafted him, catching 18 of his 22 targets in that span and racking up at least 81 yards in each game.

There is no denying Olave's talent, but his success is still contingent on how Rattler performs in his professional debut. Fantasy managers should also be aware that Tampa's heavy utilization of zone coverages favors Rashid Shaheed (hip) more than it does Olave. Olave rates as a risky WR3 in Week 6 given the situation in New Orleans.

- Dan Stephens, RotoBaller

Brian Thomas Jr., Jacksonville Jaguars - Fantasy Football Outlook

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. is too talented to bench despite a tough Week 6 matchup with the Chicago Bears in London. BTJ is coming off a five-catch, 122-yard, and one-touchdown performance against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5.

Although the Colts' secondary is one of the worst in the league while the Bears' secondary is one of the best, fantasy managers should not overthink it and bench the rookie receiver. Gabe Davis (knee) and Evan Engram (hamstring) might return from injury this Sunday, but given how well BTJ has been playing, it is hard to imagine Trevor Lawrence stops looking his way.

Even if the offense struggles or Lawrence spreads the ball around more, the first-round pick out of LSU has proven he can produce chunk plays that can salvage his fantasy day instantly. After an 85-yard touchdown against the Colts, BTJ's fantasy managers should be eagerly awaiting another big touchdown in Week 6, even against a top Bears secondary.

- Seth Quinn, RotoBaller

Trey Sermon, Indianapolis Colts - Fantasy Football Outlook

Indianapolis Colts running back Trey Sermon (collarbone) has been cleared to play in Week 6 against the division-rival Tennessee Titans and will serve as the team's primary RB for the second straight week with Jonathan Taylor (ankle) being ruled out.

Sermon missed practice on Wednesday but was a full-go on both Thursday and Friday. The 25-year-old saw 10 carries for 38 yards and his second rushing touchdown of the year in last week's loss to the division-rival Jacksonville Jaguars, adding six receptions for another 25 yards.

For the added volume alone, with JT out again, fantasy managers should consider Sermon an RB3/flex this weekend. However, the matchup against the Titans on the road isn't nearly as good, as they've allowed the 22nd-most half-PPR points to opposing backs through five weeks this year.

- Keith Hernandez, RotoBaller
