Welcome back RotoBallers to the January update of our MLB team's dynasty fantasy baseball prospects rankings for the 2024 season. We're now into 2024 with an eye on the upcoming year, and moves by MLB teams have begun to shape how we look at prospects.
Comments about potential playing time, big contracts offered to players that seem to indicate an Opening Day spot, and some international players inking contracts have adjusted where players sit on this list. Next month, we will add in the 2024 international signing class as their signings are made official, and that will certainly impact this list!
We will revisit this list monthly throughout the offseason with any updates due to offseason trades or player information gathered from fall and winter leagues, so keep checking in each month!

MLB Prospect Dynasty Rankings - January Update
These fantasy baseball prospect rankings are geared towards dynasty leagues, which are looking at longer-term impacts for fantasy baseball. Proximity is weighed into the rankings, so a player who has reached the major leagues already or should figure prominently into his team's 2024 plans will get a nod above a similarly-valued player who is multiple years away from the majors. Who's Hot, Who's Not
While the names remained the same, the order of the top 10 shuffled just a bit as we enter 2024. Yoshinobu Yamamoto's deal with the Dodgers gives him a much higher floor for a landing spot and an organization that should be able to allow him to maximize his raw stuff.
Walker Jenkins also moved up notably after talking with a few people from the Minnesota Twins organization about him. There are many inside and outside of the organization who believe Jenkins has a legit chance to be the top prospect in the game once Jackson Holliday graduates at some point this year.
Another guy who jumped significantly is Baltimore's Samuel Basallo. The more I watch of Basallo, the more I absolutely love his hitting ability, with comparisons to a host of excellent high-average, high-power right-handed bats coming to mind when you watch him swing. Whether he sticks at catcher or moves off the position, his bat should provide plenty of fantasy value.
On the down side, Arizona outfielder Druw Jones is a guy that I've had a chance to look at more video from 2023. While the raw talent is unquestionable, there's a LOT of work to polish that raw talent into usable on-field skills, and it's hard to justify him in the top 100 at this point. He joins what has become a rough top-six picks from the 2022 MLB Draft behind Holliday.
