NHL DFS Analysis and Picks for 6/21/24

The Stanley Cup Final has not been disappointing with big swings for both Edmonton and Florida. Now that Edmonton is pushing the series further into a Game 6, can it manage to escape the Nightmare Bear for a third time and push the Stanley Cup Final to THE Game 7?! Can Florida finally clinch its first Stanley Cup? During the playoffs, it is much more common to find low-scoring and heavy-hitting games. SCRATCH THAT! This year, we have seen plenty of back-and-forth blowouts and teams getting swept! I will do my best to guide you through this showdown slate on DraftKings and FanDuel starting at 8:00 p.m. EDT.

DISCLOSURE: Make sure to monitor the NHL news feeds for the latest player status and injury news.

Playoff Series To-Date

Florida Panthers at Edmonton Oilers: Panthers Lead Series 3-2

DraftKings and FanDuel Captain - NHL DFS Picks

Warren Foegele - DK $7.5K || FD $8K

Opponent - Florida Panthers

After providing an assist and extending his point streak to three games, Foegele makes the "CAPTAIN" spot for a second straight game. His salary-saving potential with his ceiling potential is unmatched outside possibly Evan Rodrigues of the Florida Panthers. However, the former is who plays with star Connor McDavid. Furthermore, Foegele’s three-game point streak has all come playing alongside McDavid. Until the winger’s production drops, his value is unmatched in the Stanley Cup Final.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • McDavid (DK $17.1K || FD $16K)
  • Verhaeghe (DK $12K || FD $11K)

DraftKings and FanDuel Flex Players - NHL DFS Picks

Matthew Tkachuk - DK $9.2K || FD $12.5K

Opponent - Edmonton Oilers

Matthew Tkachuk is carrying Florida’s second line right now with one goal, two assists, 15 shots, and two blocked shots in his last five games, and in only two of those games, he played with Carter Verhaeghe on said line. Despite both DraftKings and FanDuel not counting hits as a trackable stat, Tkachuk also has 19 hits in that span. He is putting his entire body on the line…literally. If Florida has one X factor, it is Tkachuk. In a desperation game for both the Panthers and the Oilers, expect the veteran to produce four shots and one blocked shot.

Evan Bouchard - DK $8.2K || FD $12K

Opponent - Florida Panthers

Two-way defenseman Evan Bouchard is exploding and the timing couldn’t be better for the Oilers. Throughout his last five games and more or less his last two games, he has five assists, 12 shots, and seven blocked shots. Although his point production is greatly needed, his peripherals make a big difference for Edmonton. In yet another "do-or-die" scenario in Game 6, expect the defenseman to generate one point, four shots, and three blocked shots.

Evan Rodrigues - DK $6K || FD $9.5K

Opponent - Edmonton Oilers

The longer this series goes, the more and more Pittsburgh Penguins fans continue to scratch their head wondering why they ever let go of Evan Rodrigues. The playmaking winger/center hybrid is flying in the Stanley Cup Final. In his last five appearances, he has four goals, two assists, 10 shots, and six blocked shots. He is providing in all facets of the game and becoming a key difference-maker for the Florida Panthers. Keep in mind that the bulk of this production has come on the top line with Aleksander Barkov and Sam Reinhart, showing that Rodrigues can keep up with the stars. As mentioned, Rodrigues could also be used in the "CAPTAIN" spot as another salary-saving option. Until he slows down, he is bordering on a MUST in lineup construction.

Others To Consider (Cash/GPP):

  • Nugent-Hopkins (DK $7.8K || FD $10.5K)
  • Bennett (DK $7.4K || FD $9.5K)
