Should I Drop Joe Mixon in Fantasy Football?
Yes. Given his current unknown timeline, managers should not consider stashing Mixon ahead of Week 10. While managers in deeper 14+ teams that have multiple IR spots could still stash Mixon, he has seen his value continue to drop as the Texans have yet to provide any significant update on his status.
Earlier in October, the team's general manager, Nick Caserio, noted that Mixon's status for the remainder of the season is "in limbo." He has yet to be seen on the practice field or show any progress with the training staff.
Given the increasing likelihood that Mixon misses the remainder of the season, managers should not continue to hold him ahead of their Week 10 tilt against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Who Should I Pickup for Fantasy Football?
With Mixon's value continuing to drop each week, managers should instead pivot to an alternative ahead of Week 10. When looking at viable running back targets, managers should look to add a high-upside RB2 that could see the value skyrocket if their starters were to miss time. Potential candidates for this are Isaiah Davis, Blake Corum, Brian Robinson Jr., or Devin Neal.
With Alvin Kamara (ankle) potentially in danger of missing Week 10, Neal could see the highest immediate value spike out of this group. In addition, Corum and Robinson would become fringe top-12 plays given their offensive environment if Kyren Williams or Christian McCaffrey were to miss any time during the second half.
When looking at high-upside WRs to stash, managers should consider adding Carolina wideout Jalen Coker to New England rookie Kyle Williams. While Coker missed it me earlier in the season, he saw his highest snap share in Week 9 and is slowly returning to the WR2 role in this offense, a role he has held for most of the second half of the 2024 campaign.
Williams could be poised for a larger role in Week 10 and the remainder of the season with Kayshon Boutte (hamstring) sidelined with an injury.
In addition, managers should also check their waiver wire for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (knee). Aiyuk is IR-eligible in all leagues but has had a much clearer path to return late in the season compared to Mixon.
