Welcome to our PrizePicks MLB DFS prop picks for Friday, May 5, 2023. The 2023 MLB season is underway here at RotoBaller, and we have you covered with some terrific plays from our friends over at PrizePicks.
PrizePicks is a great DFS fantasy picks site where you can choose to select plays in terms of fantasy points or single stats. The goal is to build a 2-player, 3-player, 4-player, or 5-player entry and then select whether or not you want to play for the power play or the flex play. On the power play, you will need to be correct on each of your selections to win, and on the flex play, you will have a little more wiggle room for a chance to win some money back.
At PrizePicks, you're not playing against other people, you're just playing against the projections, and the guys at PrizePicks have worked hard to give you really attractive opportunities to make some money.

PrizePicks Over/Under DFS Props Contests
PrizePicks has two types of games. The first type of game is known as Fantasy Score, which consists of selecting various players and trying to determine if they will go over or under their projected fantasy points in a game.
The second game is known as Single Stat. For the MLB, Single Stat consists of pitcher strikeout props in which you determine if the pitcher in question will go over or under their projected strikeout total.
You can mix and match players from different types of games in your entry or select all of your plays from the same type of game. Once you have selected your players and props, you can choose the aforementioned flex play or power play option. Let's see what the board offers today!

Cristian Javier more than 6.5 strikeouts
I love this spot for Javier against Seattle tonight. The Mariners have been struggling greatly against right-handed pitching over the previous two weeks by posting the league's highest K rate with a rate of 31.0%. Javier has also posted 16 strikeouts across his previous 11 2/3 innings pitched and will be on the road where he has posted an 11.8 K/9 since 2021.
Kodai Senga more than 5.5 strikeouts
Kodai Senga is in another great sport tonight as the Rockies finished a day game at Coors Field yesterday afternoon and now have to travel across the country to Queens. Senga has eclipsed this total in four of his first five starts to begin the season while racking up a total of 32 strikeouts across 26 innings pitched. The Rockies have also posted a K rate of 23.4% vs. right-handers over the previous two weeks, which ranks them in the bottom half of the league over that span.
Yu Darvish less than 6.5 strikouts
This play definitely has a bit of risk as Darvish is more than capable of fanning seven batters, but the matchup is going to be tough against the Dodgers. Over the previous two weeks, Los Angeles is posting just a 22.4% K rate vs. right-handers. They are also pairing this with the league's fifth-best walk rate (11.1%) and the fourth-best wRC+ mark (134). Meanwhile, Darvish has failed to eclipse this total in three of his first five starts to begin the season.
Bo Bichette more than 1.5 total bases
Bichette has been on fire over the previous seven days as he has posted a 1.061 OPS with three home runs. He will be up against old man Rich Hill, who has allowed 40 home runs and a .247 BAA to right-handers since 2021. Meanwhile, Bichette has posted a .888 OPS with 15 home runs across 312 plate appearances vs. lefties in the same timeframe.
