7 mins agoCincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon topped 100 scrimmage yards in Week 13's 34-31 upset win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, carrying the ball 19 times for 68 yards and two touchdowns with a season-high six catches for 49 yards. Besides a 28-yard screen catch, Mixon curiously lost five first-quarter touches to change-of-pace back Chase Brown but took over the backfield work afterward for a huge fantasy showing. The 27-year-old former Pro Bowler made a great effort to power his way into the end zone for a six-yard score early in the second period before punching it in from two yards out on his second score right before halftime. Mixon has quietly acted as one of fantasy's safest plays at the position in 2023, and he will be back in play as a high-floor RB2 against an Indianapolis Colts defense that's given way for back-to-back 100-yard rushing days to Rachaad White and Derrick Henry.Source: ESPN
15 mins agoCincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase torched the Jacksonville Jaguars for 11 catches (12 targets) and 149 yards with one touchdown in Week 13's improbable 34-31 road victory. Chase was peppered with six targets for 28 yards early on, with an impressive one-handed 17-yard catch helping navigate an eventual scoring drive. The 23-year-old perennial Pro Bowler turned his inefficient stat line on its head with another highlight after beating press coverage for an exhilarating 76-yard score on Cincinnati's first possession of the second half. Chase later dropped a pass in the red zone but atoned for the miscue to help convert a fourth down on the ensuing play. With his fantasy ceiling still intact despite catching the passes of a backup quarterback, who admittedly looked as competent as one could ask for on Monday, Chase will remain a backend WR1, at worst, in Week 14 versus the Indianapolis Colts.Source: ESPN
16 mins agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Parker Washington hauled in six passes for 61 yards and a touchdown against the Cincinnati Bengals. The rookie sixth round pick had only played in three games as a punt return specialist, but was thrust into action with the injury to Christian Kirk. Washington filled in seamlessly, catching passes all over the field from quarterback Trevor Lawrence, including an impressive tip-drill touchdown catch in the third quarter. The Jaguars offense took some major blows with injuries to the QB1 and leading receiver, but Washington was able to help keep the offense afloat in this one. He'll look to continue the great start to his young career in Cleveland next weekend.Source: ESPN
19 mins agoJacksonville Jaguars quarterback C.J. Beathard completed nine-of-10 passes for 63 yards in a MNF overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Beathard was forced into action when QB1 Trevor Lawrence went down with an ankle sprain in the fourth quarter and filled in admirably, nearly leading the Jaguars to an overtime win. The former 49er led a clutch two-minute drill late in the fourth quarter that resulted in a game-tying field goal which sent the game to overtime. Beathard also connected with Calvin Ridley on a 42-yard deep shot in OT that appeared to give the Jags first and goal inside the five, but the play was called back due to a holding call. It's looking likely that Lawrence will miss some time, and if that is the case Beathard will draw the start next Sunday vs. the vaunted Cleveland Browns defense.Source: ESPN
26 mins agoCincinnati Bengals quarterback Jake Browning may have given us his best Joe Burrow (wrist) impersonation in Monday's unlikely 34-31 road win in overtime over the Jacksonville Jaguars, completing 32-of-37 passes for 354 yards and one touchdown with two carries for 22 yards and a rushing score. Browning orchestrated two first-half touchdown drives before throwing a perfect pass to Ja'Marr Chase in single coverage early in the third quarter for a thrilling 76-yard TD, which was also Cincinnati's longest play from scrimmage of the year. Browning capped off another scoring drive by breaking the plane on a one-yard QB sneak in the fourth period. While expectations need to stay tempered until a greater sample size is established, this was certainly an eye-opening performance. Browning should at least be a viable QB2 option with a fully healthy supporting cast for next Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 14.Source: ESPN
30 mins agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Zay Jones caught five passes for 78 yards in the 34-31 overtime loss to Cincinnati on Monday Night. The ECU product has missed half of the Jaguars games this year due to injury, but has been back for three straight and put up his best performance since Week 1. The chemistry between Lawrence and Jones was apparent in this matchup, and the latter tied for second on the team with eight total targets. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence unfortunately exited the game with what looked like a bad ankle injury, but the 8th-year receiver was still able to get a couple of looks from backup QB C.J. Beathard. Jones will take on the stingy Cleveland Browns in Week 14 for his next matchup.Source: ESPN
38 mins agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram caught nine passes for 82 yards and a score on Monday Night against Cincinnati. The veteran pass-catcher took full advantage of his plus-matchup, absolutely torching the Bengals defense all night. Engram also broke his NFL-leading 84 targets without a touchdown when he caught a quick swing pass from quarterback Trevor Lawrence before turning on the burners for a 22-yard score. The former first-round pick's 23.2 PPR points tonight marked a season-high, and his nine receptions marked the second-highest total of the season. While quarterback Trevor Lawrence had to exit the game in the fourth quarter due to an ankle injury, Engram was the favorite target of backup quarterback C.J. Beathard, hauling in four passes in only two drives. It was a great all-around performance for Engram, but things do not get easier next week when the Jaguars travel to Cleveland.Source: ESPN
40 mins agoJacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence's (ankle) initial diagnosis has revealed an ankle sprain, and he will have an MRI on Tuesday. Offensive lineman Walker Little (hamstring) inadvertently stepped on the back of Lawrence's ankle late in Monday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals, causing the 24-year-old to get bent backward and emerge from a sack in visible pain. After being unable to walk off under his own power, a frustrated Lawrence slammed his helmet to the turf and was helped to the locker room. The star signal-caller's night ended after completing 22-of-29 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns plus his third straight outing with a rushing score. Lawrence's setback could shake up the race for the AFC South crown down the stretch, depending on the severity of the sprain. C.J. Beathard would figure draw the Week 14 start in a nightmarish road spot against the Cleveland Browns if Lawrence needs to miss additional time.Source: Tom Pelissero - NFL Network
59 mins agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley caught four passes for 26 yards, adding three rushes for seven yards against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night. It was a letdown spot from the 28-eight-year-old wideout, who was coming off of two top-11 performances. Ridley was still tied for second on the team with eight targets which gives him a team-leading 23 in the past three games. The ex-Falcon's day would've looked much different if the 42-yard bomb from C.J. Beathard that he hauled in during the extra period stood, but it was unfortunately negated due to a holding call. Ridley subsequently lost four yards on the next play, adding to the misfortune. Next up is a road matchup against the Cleveland Browns in Week 14.Source: ESPN
1 hour agoJacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. rushed 11 times for 45 yards and a touchdown, with four receptions on as many targets for 34 yards against Cincinnati on Monday. The young back had a relatively inefficient day on the ground, as he was staring down yet another week under four yards per carry until a thirteen yard pickup in the fourth put him just over that line. Etienne also broke his three-game scoreless streak, punching in a four-yard touchdown on the Jags first drive of the game. His production on the ground over the past few weeks is a bit concerning, but with Trevor Lawrence's status unknown due to an ankle injury, the former first-round pick could be relied upon even more than he already is moving forward. Up next is a tough matchup at Cleveland in Week 14.Source: ESPN
2 hours agoJacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (ankle) exited Monday's matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. The signal-caller was playing well, throwing for 258 yards and two touchdowns off 22-for-29 passing. He also added another score by way of a quarterback sneak. However, Lawrence's ankle got landed on during a play in the fourth quarter, and he needed assistance back to the locker room. The Jags are listing him as questionable to return. But it's likely his night is over. Now fantasy managers will anxiously await X-ray results while pondering his availability in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns. If Lawrence can't go for that one, C.J. Beathard would presumably be under center.Source: Tom Pelissero
3 hours agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars downgraded wide receiver Christian Kirk (groin) and cornerback Tre Herndon (concussion) from questionable to out for the rest of the Monday night contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. Kirk was injured on the first possession of the game for the Jaguars offense when he caught a 29-yard pass. Herndon was hurt shortly after in the first quarter of action, and both players could be questionable to play on a short turnaround in Week 14 against the Cleveland Browns. Kirk looked to be in a substantial amount of pain after his injury and was walking very gingerly into the locker room. If he misses time beyond Monday night, Calvin Ridley and tight end Evan Engram should see even more targets, with Zay Jones moving up to the No. 2 receiver role behind Ridley.Source: The Associated Press - Mark Long
4 hours agoJacksonville Jaguars cornerback Tre Herndon (head) left Monday night's game to be evaluated for a concussion. It's currently uncertain if he'll return, that will likely be determined after they figure out the results of the concussion tests. Gregory Junior is the next man up on the depth chart as the team's secondary has become very thin due to injuries across the board. Anyone starting the Jaguars defense will want to stay tuned to make sure the defensive backs won't be too depleted for the rest of Monday night.Source: Ben Arthur
4 hours agoJacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Christian Kirk (groin) exited Monday night's game in the first quarter with a groin injury and he has been deemed questionable to return. He was able to haul in his only target of the game for 26 yards, but losing him is a big blow to this offense. Kirk consistently sees either the most or second most targets on the team in each game and he has been the most consistent fantasy contributor among the Jaguars' pass-catchers. Fantasy managers will want to stay tuned for more updates throughout this game.Source: Jaguars PR
6 hours agoWhen asked about whether the team would consider adding free-agent tight end Zach Ertz, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said, "We like our tight ends. I think right now we'll roll with those guys." Mark Andrews (ankle) is expected to miss the rest of the season, but the Ravens are comfortable using second-year tight end Isaiah Likely and Charlie Kolar to replace him the rest of the season. Ertz was released by the Arizona Cardinals last week and is free to sign with any team. The veteran tight end wants to go somewhere he can win another Super Bowl ring, with the Bills, Chiefs and Eagles seemingly his best options. Philly makes the most sense given Dallas Goedert's (forearm) injury and the fact that Ertz began his career with the Eagles.Source: BaltimoreRavens.com - Ryan Mink
