23 hours agoNew York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said that wide receivers Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) are "getting closer," but it sounds like they will need to make more progress this week in order to play in Week 4 against the Chicago Bears. Neither player was active for the Monday night loss to the Dallas Cowboys, and Robinson has missed the last two games. The G-Men just lost Sterling Shepard (knee) to a torn ACL as well, so they're receiving depth is already being tested early in 2022 for the second straight season. With Kenny Golladay disappearing from the game plan, Richie James and David Sills have taken on bigger roles in the passing attack the last two weeks.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Bergen Record - Art Stapleton
2 days agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and defensive end Leonard Williams (knee), who were both listed as doubtful, are officially inactive on Monday night against the Dallas Cowboys. Toney has been one of the biggest disappointments so far in the early going. The 23-year-old second-year wideout played just 12 percent of the offensive snaps in the season opener and 38 percent of the snaps last week, catching two of his three targets for zero yards in two games. With rookie Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) out again as well, the Giants are expected to have David Sills and Richie James in three-wide sets alongside Sterling Shepard. Kenny Golladay played just two snaps in the Week 2 win over the Panthers. Toney is currently rostered in only 31% of Yahoo leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Giants.com - Dan Salomne
4 days agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) is now listed as doubtful ahead of the team's Week 3 matchup with the Dallas Cowboys. Toney missed practice on Saturday and is unlikely to play on Monday night. Despite the upside he flashed as a rookie, Toney is an obvious cut candidate in fantasy right now as he has not been involved in the Giants' offense to begin the season and is now dealing with a hamstring injury. He could be worth holding onto in deeper formats but is probably just clogging your bench in most redraft leagues. If Toney misses time, Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton could start to get involved for New York.--Jorden Hill - RotoBallerSource: Adam Schefter
4 days agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) will not practice again on Saturday, according to head coach Brian Daboll. Toney took part in practice earlier in the week, but this will be his second straight missed practice, so his availability for Monday night's game against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3 isn't looking good. On top of it, the 23-year-old second-year receiver has played just 33 offensive snaps through the first two games, so fantasy managers have dumped him in a lot of leagues already. The Giants' final injury report for Week 3 should be released before long on Saturday, so we'll know soon whether Toney has a chance of playing. Even if he's active, it's hard to recommend him for a starting spot in fantasy lineups this week.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN New York - Jordan Raanan
6 days agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) was a limited participant in practice on Thursday. He didn't practice on Wednesday, so the slight increase in his activity level is a good sign regarding his availability for Monday night against Dallas. With that said, the 23-year-old hasn't been productive this season, accumulating only two catches for zero yards, so there likely aren't many fantasy managers concerned about his availability.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBallerSource: Dallas Cowboys
7 days agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) will not practice on Wednesday, according to head coach Brian Daboll. Daboll said that Toney has hamstring "soreness." Sterling Shepard will also sit out of practice, but it's just rep management heading into Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night. Toney has been a huge disappointment through two weeks of play, catching just two of three targets for zero yards. The good news is that he played 38 percent of the offensive snaps in Week 2 after playing just 12 percent of the snaps in the season opener. The 23-year-old second-year wideout has already been dropped in a lot of fantasy leagues and is now only rostered in 38 percent of Yahoo leagues. He's not a realistic flex play in Week 3.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: SNY - Connor Hughes
1 week agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) will suit up for the Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The 23-year-old was barely seen in the season opener, which was frustrating for fantasy managers. Toney only played in seven snaps and saw two touches throughout the contest. It's hard to justify starting Toney after the letdown in Week 1. Fellow wide receivers Kenny Golladay and Sterling Shepard are better targets in fantasy formats.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Stacey Dales
1 week agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) is expected to be active for Week 2 against the Carolina Panthers, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com. Toney underwhelmed in last week's season opener, playing just seven snaps and registering two touches. Even with Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) sidelined, it's impossible to justify starting Toney after his Week 1 letdown. Similarly, fellow wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Kenny Golladay shouldn't be started in fantasy football.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBallerSource: Ian Rapoport
2 weeks agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) has been listed as questionable on the team's final Week 2 injury report. Toney, who barely played in Week 1 but looked electric on his two rushing attempts, was a limited participant in practice on Thursday and Friday after his hamstring tightened up. His involvement in the offense going forward was unclear either way, but this is obviously not a good sign considering Toney battled injuries for the majority of his rookie season. Although Toney passes the eye test every time he has the ball, it might be best to drop him for a player with guaranteed opportunities this week if you need a fantasy starter. Even if Toney plays, he should remain out of starting lineups until he proves to have a role.--Jorden Hill - RotoBallerSource: Pat Leonard
2 weeks agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (hamstring) was added to the injury report this week after getting in a limited practice session on Thursday. Toney dealt with lower body issues for much of training camp and in his rookie season in 2021, so this is not what his fantasy managers want to see early in the season. It's especially disappointing after he played only 12 percent of the offensive snaps and didn't see a single target in the Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans. He carried the ball twice for 23 yards. If the 23-year-old plays this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, he could see a bigger role with rookie Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) iffy to play, but it's hard to recommend him as a flex play after his Week 1 performance, outside of deeper leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Giants.com - Dan Salomne
2 weeks agoEven though New York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney is fully healthy, according to head coach Brian Daboll, the young wideout only played seven offensive snaps in the Week 1 win over the Tennessee Titans. And that was with rookie Wan'Dale Robinson (knee) getting injured and being ruled out. Toney was injured much of his rookie season and dealt with a leg injury for most of training camp, so perhaps the Giants wanted to ease him into action in the season opener. The 23-year-old finished with two carries for 23 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game. Things could obviously change as the season progresses, but this was a terrible start for Toney and his fantasy managers. Toney will have a better chance to be involved in Week 2 against the Panthers if Robinson is inactive, but he'll still be a shaky flex play after what transpired in the season opener.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: New York Daily News - Pat Leonard
2 weeks agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney didn't see the field much in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans as he carried the ball two times for 23 yards. The second-year wideout didn't record a single catch or target in the contest. After being effective when he was healthy as a rookie in 2021, Toney was expected to have a decent-sized role with the Giants this season. However, the versatile wide receiver saw only two snaps in the first half and he was seen sitting by himself on the bench during the game, away from the other wide receivers. It's not a good sign that the Florida product couldn't even earn snaps with Kenny Golladay struggling and Wan'Dale Robinson exiting the game early. With a new coaching staff in place, it's clear that the 23-year-old wideout will need to prove he deserves a role in the offense moving forward.--Skyler Carlin - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
4 weeks agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (leg) is practicing with the team on Wednesday and looks 100 percent healthy. Head coach Brian Daboll said on Monday that he's "hopeful" that Toney will be ready for the Week 1 regular season opener on Sept. 11 against the Tennessee Titans. The 23-year-old has been battling through a right leg injury, and he's also coming off offseason knee surgery. The former first-rounder has the most long-term upside of any Giants receiver, but injuries early in his career have caused fantasy managers to be cautious. When healthy, he'll start in three-receiver sets alongside Kenny Golladay and rookie Wan'Dale Robinson. Consider Toney a WR4/flex with upside in upcoming fantasy drafts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Dan Duggan
1 month agoNew York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney (knee/hamstring) sat out during their preseason finale on Sunday. Surprisingly, Toney dressed and warmed up, but didn't see the field at all. Head coach Brian Daboll mentioned that Toney wasn't ready to play, which makes it tough to know his status going into cut day. Last season, Toney finished with 39 receptions, 420 receiving yards, and zero touchdowns in 10 games. He does have potential, but he's a shaky option heading into the regular season. Fantasy managers in standard 12-team formats are going to have a tough time justifying starting Toney in Week 1. At this point, he's more of a stash than a real threat on the field.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
1 month agoNew York Giants wide receivers Kadarius Toney (hamstring) and Darius Slayton (undisclosed) have been deemed questionable to suit up for Sunday's contest vs. the Jets. Toney has been slowed in practice by nagging leg injuries, while Slayton played just five snaps in the team's preseason opener two weeks ago due to tightness. While the team got a boost earlier in the week after Sterling Shepard returned from an Achilles tear, he will miss the preseason finale and his status for Week 1 remains unclear. Kenny Golladay figures to serve as Daniel Jones' primary weapon on the outside, although Wan'Dale Robinson should play a sizable role as well. If either Toney or Slayton is held out, their next chance to suit up for game action will come Week 1 against Tennessee.--Jesse BorekSource: Dan Duggan
