1 month agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard handled four carries for just four yards and added three receptions for 25 yards on six targets in Friday night's preseason win against the Buffalo Bills. Hubbard started at running back for Carolina, but dropped two passes from quarterback Baker Mayfield early on and failed to get anything going on the ground. He could split backup duties with D'Onta Foreman, but he remains nothing more than a late-round handcuff in fantasy drafts in extremely deep leagues.--Jorden Hill - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

1 month agoCarolina Panthers second-year running back Chuba Hubbard handled six carries for 22 yards and one reception for a four-yard-loss in Friday's preseason matchup against the New England Patriots. D'Onta Foreman started in the backfield this week, but the two rotated throughout Carolina's first four drives and were both mostly ineffective. Hubbard disappointed fantasy managers when Christian McCaffrey went down in 2021, which explains why Foreman is currently being drafted almost three rounds earlier. Both could be worthy of a late-round dart throw for the potential of being the primary backup to McCaffrey, who has appeared in only ten games in the past two seasons.--Jorden Hill - RotoBallerSource: ESPN
Share:
2 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard has improved at pass protection, according to head coach Matt Rhule. He led the team in carries last season with Christian McCaffrey only playing seven games. Sadly, Hubbard struggled on the ground with 3.6 yards per carry. He'll be competing with D'Onata Forearm for the backup gig in Carolina. Hubbard might have the edge, assuming he continues improving in pass protection. Although, it's unlikely he'll carry weekly fantasy value, assuming McCaffrey can actually stay healthy.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: Steve Reed
Share:
9 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard rushed 17 times for 55 yards and a score along with getting three receptions for 13 yards on four targets in Sunday's loss to the Saints. The rookie posted his best rushing total since Halloween but has mostly been underwhelming in recent weeks. Hubbard had less than 40 rushing yards in three of the four prior games to Week 17. The youngster will be hard to trust next week against a Tampa defense that allows the third-fewest fantasy points to backs.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
Share:
9 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard shouldn't be in your starting lineup in Week 17 against the Saints. Hubbard has struggled as the team RB1, posting 40 rushing yards or less in the last five games while having two contests in that span with single-digit rushing yards. The rookie also doesn't offer any value in the passing game as he has a single receiving yard total in the last five contests. The Saints allow the fewest fantasy points to RBs, so it's best to avoid Hubbard in this matchup.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
9 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard had six carries for nine yards in Sunday's loss to Tampa. Hubbard hasn't rushed for more than 40 yards in the past four games and has been struggling despite being the RB1 of the team. Things won't get any easier as Hubbard faces the Saints, who allow the second-fewest fantasy points to RBs, and the Bucs again to close out the season. The 22-year-old may be better off on the bench to close out the season given his struggles and upcoming matchups.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
Share:
9 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard is a flex play, at best, in Week 16 against Tampa. The rookie running back hasn't rushed for more than 40 yards in any of the past five contests despite being the workhorse RB with Christian McCaffrey out for the rest of the season. The 22-year-old will face off against a stingy Tampa Bay run defense this week, meaning expectations should be tempered for Hubbard. He'll be a low-upside flex play in Week 16 and will probably need to find the end zone to return any value. It's really hard to trust any Panthers offensive skill player with quarterback Cam Newton struggling.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
9 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard rushed eight times for 40 yards in Sunday's loss to Buffalo. The back also added a single yard on a single reception. The 22-year-old now has 40 rushing yards or less in the last two weeks and hasn't been producing that well as the workhorse back. Nevertheless, Hubbard will be the RB1 of the team for the remainder of the season but he will see another tough matchup next week in Tampa Bay.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
Share:
9 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard is a flex option against Buffalo in Week 15. Hubbard is the RB1 of the team for the remainder of the season and will see a good number of carries in the remaining weeks. Last week, the back managed only 33 rushing yards but also had a rushing touchdown. Buffalo is more lenient to fantasy backs and is average against the position, so Hubbard is worth rolling out as a flex play.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
10 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard rushed 10 times for 33 yards and a score in Sunday's loss to the Falcons. Hubbard is now the workhorse back for the remainder of the season with Christian McCaffrey (ankle) out. The rookie has shown flashes of talent at points throughout 2021, and with a bigger role, he will have more chances to shine and produce. He should be considered in the RB2 tier going forward.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
Share:
10 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard is an RB2 option in Week 14. With starter Christian McCaffrey out for the remainder of the season (ankle), Hubbard will step into the workhorse role. The rookie has performed well at times this season, including rushing for 101 yards back in early October. The Falcons are in the top-10 in terms of points allowed to fantasy backs, so Hubbard is a good fantasy option this week.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: NFL.com
Share:
11 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard posted nine carries for 27 yards and a score in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. Hubbard's role has been smaller since Christian McCaffrey returned, but the star RB dealt with his hamstring once again in this contest, thrusting Hubbard into a bigger role in the second half. It will be important to monitor McCaffrey's status this week as Hubbard could once again be the workhorse if the team's RB1 has to miss another game.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
Share:
11 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard saw just three carries in Sunday's defeat to New England. Hubbard took a backseat to Christian McCaffrey as expected, totaling just four touches to the latter's 18, though the rookie did pick up 33 yards on his one catch of the day. The rookie could spell McCaffrey more often to keep the latter healthy, though Hubbard likely won't be anything more than a flex play unless the star halfback goes down to another injury.--Tim CapursoSource: ESPN
Share:
11 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard could still have a fantasy-relevant role on Sunday against the Patriots. Christian McCaffrey (hamstring) seems like he could suit up, though the Panthers and fantasy managers have been hoping for that for about five weeks now, so it's no sure thing. Regardless, head coach Matt Rhule said that the team would be easing McCaffrey back in if he's active- meaning that Hubbard will have a role this Sunday. The rookie has been inefficient with his carries but has three games with five-plus targets and will take on a Patriots defense that has allowed the ninth-most fantasy points per game to running backs over the last four weeks. Hubbard could have flex value for fantasy managers in a bind.--Tim CapursoSource: NFL.com
Share:
11 months agoCarolina Panthers running back Chuba Hubbard finished with 24 rushes for 82 yards and one score along with one reception for nine yards on two targets in Sunday's win over the Falcons. Hubbard continues to remain effective as the workhorse back for Carolina and the RB has at least 61 rushing yards in three of the past four games. As long as he starts, the 22-year-old should remain in the RB2 realm.--Rishi Patel - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com
