8 hours agoNew York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (ribs) was designated for return from the injured reserve list on Monday but will not start in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers. Giants head coach Brian Daboll announced on Tuesday that Tommy Devito will be the team's starting quarterback this week. Taylor was New York's starter for three games this season but injured his ribs early in Week 8, which landed him on the injured reserve list. In two full starts this year, the veteran quarterback totaled 479 pass yards and two touchdowns. If he's active in Week 14, he should serve as DeVito's backup on Monday night.Source: Ian Rapoport
8 hours agoPittsburgh Steelers linebacker Elandon Roberts (groin) was a limited participant in Tuesday's team practice. Roberts injured his groin in last week's game after playing just 15 snaps against the Arizona Cardinals. His upgraded practice status from Monday is a good step in the right direction for the veteran. But he'll have just one more chance to practice in full before the Steelers take on the New England Patriots on Thursday night. Roberts has been a middle-of-the-pack IDP option this season behind his 80 tackles and 1.5 sacks. If he can't go, linebacker Mark Robinson should see more opportunities.Source: ESPN
11 hours agoThe Green Bay Packers released running back James Robinson from their practice squad on Tuesday. Robinson has been shuffled back and forth by the team a few times throughout the season. He appeared in one game for the Packers, taking one carry for two yards against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 13. The team released Robinson to make room for newly signed Kenyan Drake, who will take his place on the practice squad. Robinson will now look to catch on with another team.Source: Packers.com
11 hours agoPittsburgh Steelers safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (hand) practiced fully on Tuesday, marking two straight full practices for him as his team prepares to take on the New England Patriots in Week 14's Thursday night game. Fitzpatrick fractured his hand during a Week 13 loss to the Arizona Cardinals but he played through the injury, so his availability for Thursday night's game should not be a point of concern for fantasy gamers rostering him in IDP leagues.Source: Steelers.com
13 hours agoTo make room for new defensive back Logan Ryan, the San Francisco 49ers waived running back Tyrion Davis-Price on Tuesday. Davis-Price, the team's third-round pick in 2022, has played in just one game in 2023 after carrying the ball 34 times for 99 yards and no touchdowns in six games in his rookie season. His lone game for the Niners this year came in the Week 5 blowout win over the Dallas Cowboys. Davis-Price had six carries in that contest for 21 yards while playing just seven total offensive snaps. The 23-year-old running back will now look to latch on with another team as a depth option. Davis-Price was fourth on San Fran's RB depth behind Christian McCaffrey, Elijah Mitchell and Jordan Mason.Source: The Athletic - Matt Barrows
14 hours agoThe Green Bay Packers signed free-agent veteran running back Kenyan Drake to their practice squad on Tuesday and cut running back James Robinson from the practice squad in a corresponding move. Drake will take Robinson's spot as backfield depth while Aaron Jones (knee) recovers from an MCL sprain that he suffered in Week 11. Jones has missed the last two games and could be unavailable once again on Monday night in Week 14 versus the New York Giants. The 29-year-old Drake played in two games this year with the Baltimore Ravens and had just three touches for 31 total yards. He remains off the fantasy radar while backing up Jones, AJ Dillon and Patrick Taylor in his new home.Source: KPRC 2 Sports - Aaron Wilson
14 hours agoThe Houston Texans officially placed rookie wide receiver Tank Dell (leg) on Injured Reserve on Tuesday. It's an expected move after the impressive young wideout suffered a season-ending broken left fibula in the Week 13 win over the Denver Broncos. The 24-year-old hadread more...
14 hours agoNew York Giants tight end Darren Waller (hamstring) said he ran routes for the first time at practice on Tuesday under the watch of the training staff and said he felt good. Waller is unlikely to come off Injured Reserve to play on Monday night in Week 14 against the Green Bay Packers, but it sounds like he won't be out for much longer. The 31-year-old veteran has already missed the required four games while on IR, so now it's just a matter of his progress and when the Giants feel comfortable putting him back into game action. Waller should be a top target for rookie quarterback Tommy Devito or veteran Tyrod Taylor (ribs) when he's back, so he should be stashed in all fantasy leagues. Daniel Bellinger has just nine catches (10 targets) for 123 yards and no touchdowns in the four games Waller has missed.Source: The Bergen Record - Art Stapleton
14 hours agoNew England Patriots wide receivers DeVante Parker (knee), JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) and rookie Kayshon Boutte (shoulder) were all listed as limited participants in Tuesday's practice. Parker and Smith-Schuster were also limited on Monday's estimated injury report, but Boutte was a DNP. All three pass-catchers should have a good chance to play on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which is good news with rookie Demario Douglas (concussion) trending towards missing a second straight game. Parker was New England's leading receiver in the Week 13 shutout loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, but it's hard to recommend any of the team's receivers for starting fantasy lineups, especially in a poor matchup in Week 14 against the Steelers.Source: Patriots.com
14 hours agoAfter being listed as limited on Monday's estimated injury report, New England Patriots running back Ezekiel Elliott (thigh) was removed from Tuesday's report. It should mean that Elliott won't be in danger of missing the Thursday night clash with the Pittsburgh Steelers to kick off Week 14 action. Meanwhile, fellow backfield mate Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) will miss at least a few weeks due to the high-ankle sprain he suffered in the Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. The 28-year-old Elliott will see a boost in fantasy because of the increase in volume as New England's primary back, but the Pats offense has been the worst in the league and Elliott is averaging under 4.0 yards per carry on the year. Consider him a touchdown-dependent RB3/flex in Week 14.Source: Patriots.com
14 hours agoNew England Patriots rookie wide receiver Demario Douglas (concussion) was unable to practice on Tuesday. Douglas suffered a concussion in Week 12 and has been unable to practice or play since, and it's looking like he's in line to miss his second straight game on Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The 22-year-old still deserves stashing in fantasy leagues if you're thin at the position, as Douglas was operating as New England's top receiver after Kendrick Bourne (knee) went down with a season-ending torn ACL. If he's ruled out on Wednesday's final Week 14 injury report, DeVante Parker (knee), JuJu Smith-Schuster (ankle) and second-year man Tyquan Thornton will likely start in three-receiver sets for the Patriots in a tough matchup against Pittsburgh.Source: Patriots.com
14 hours agoWhen asked if he knows who is starting at quarterback for the Week 14 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night, New England Patriots signal-caller Bailey Zappe said, "Coach (Belichick) has made it pretty clear, but I'll let him announce it to everybody." Belichick usually doesn't divulge his game plans without having his arm twisted, so we may not get an official announcement from the team. But even though Zappe was unable to put any points on the board in his first start of 2023 in the Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers, it looks like he's going to get another chance to lead the offense on a short week. Not only is Zappe a desperation low-end QB2, at best, in two-QB fantasy leagues, but the Patriots' offense is extremely beat up and will be without lead back Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle).Source: Boston Herald - Andrew Callahan
15 hours agoJacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence (ankle) is going to rehab around the clock this week to give himself a chance to play through his right high-ankle sprain, according to sources. It's too early to know how his ankle will respond and whether he'll be available this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns, but the Jaguars aren't ruling him out for Week 14 yet. The 24-year-old is as tough as nails, but we still find it hard to believe that he won't have to miss any time as a result of the injury he suffered in Monday night's overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. High-ankle sprains usually require at least a few weeks of rest before a player can think about a return. Lawrence avoided a season-ending injury, but fantasy managers should realistically expect him to miss some time.Source: The Athletic - Jeff Howe
15 hours agoPittsburgh Steelers running back Najee Harris (knee) was added to the Week 14 injury report on Tuesday and did not take part in practice. Mid-week injuries are usually not good, especially on a short week with the Steelers facing the New England Patriots this Thursday night. The Steelers could just be giving the 25-year-old some extra rest with a quick turnaround, but it's something fantasy managers need to keep a close eye on in the leadup to kickoff on Thursday evening. If Harris is limited at all this week or ruled out, Jaylen Warren would become a must-start in fantasy lineups as Pittsburgh's lead back, even with quarterback Kenny Pickett (ankle) out this week. Despite Warren's rise this year, Harris has had at least 15 carries in four of the last five games and has eight total touchdowns (four rushing, four receiving) in 12 games in 2023.Source: Steelers.com - Teresa Varley
18 hours agoMiami Dolphins linebacker Jerome Baker (knee) and offensive lineman Robert Hunt (hamstring) are considered week-to-week with knee and hamstring injuries, respectively. Both players suffered injuries in the Week 13 win over the Washington Commanders, but neither is expected to be placed on Injured Reserve. That said, the Dolphins are hoping both starters will return before the end of the regular season. Duke Riley is expected to start in Baker's absence. With Robert Jones (knee) and Hunt banged up at the guard position, Liam Eichenberg and Lester Cotton will be relied on more moving forward.Source: Cameron Wolfe
