It was an extremely close fight, but most of the MMA community thought that Thompson should have walked out with a win as he landed more damaging shots, while Bonfim didn't do much when he landed a takedown. During the second round, Thompson suffered a serious cut to his shin after checking a kick, which left him needing stitches, but Thompson kept on going and kicking Bonfim with that shin. It was an extremely close fight, and it could easily be said that Thompson got the better of Bonfim in striking exchanges while Bonfim got the better of Thompson in grappling exchanges, but in the end, the judges scored the fight 29-28, 29-28 and 28-29 in favor of Bonfim. Kattar was outclassed from the opening bell to the end, and it looked like he couldn't pull the trigger. Nate Landwehr suffered a third-round knockout loss to Morgan Charriere on the main card of UFC Nashville on Saturday. It was a back-and-forth fight while it lasted, but in the end, Landwehr's agressive style didn't help him this time.
