Zay Jones Likely To Take Over Z Receiver Role
Zay Jones will presumably take over as the team's starting "Z" receiver following Henry Ruggs III's arrest and release over a DUI resulting in a death early Tuesday morning. Jones, Hunter Renfrow and Bryan Edwards are the only receivers on the team's active roster with Ruggs gone, so one of Dillon Stoner, D.J. Turner, Javon Wims and Marcell Ateman will likely be elevated for Week 9 against the New York Giants. The Raiders could also look to add veteran deep threat DeSean Jackson, who cleared waivers on Thursday after being waived by the Los Angeles Rams this week. Jones has only played 21% of the offensive snaps this year, but he has started 36 of his 69 career games and has been in the system since 2019. Still, fantasy wise, Edwards is likely to be the biggest beneficiary of Ruggs' tragic situation.

Michael Wilson, Zay Jones Removed From Injury Report
Michael Wilson (ankle) and Zay Jones (hamstring) have been removed from the injury report ahead of the Week 7 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. Wilson has been limited in practice this week, but appears to go ready to play. Wilson has put together a quiet season outside of a few good weeks. Jones is set to make his season debut this week and will likely take over the No. 3 wideout role. Wilson figures to take a backseat to Jones or the two of them split up the third receiver role. Either way neither of them carry more than low-end flex appeal heading into this game.

Zay Jones Officially Added To Active Roster
Zay Jones (hamstring) to their 53-man active roster on Monday. The Cardinals had a roster exemption on Jones for a week after his suspension ended. After releasing receiver Chris Moore last week -- Moore eventually re-signed to the practice squad -- the Cardinals had an open roster spot. Jones was suspended for the first five games of 2024 due to a violation of the league's personal-conduct policy. The 29-year-old injured his hamstring in practice last week and did not suit up for the Week 6 loss to the Green Bay Packers. If he's able to make progress in practice this week, Jones could be in line to make his 2024 debut on Monday night against the Los Angeles Chargers. When fully healthy, Jones will be battling for targets as Arizona's WR3 with Greg Dortch and Zach Pascal behind rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. (concussion) and Michael Wilson. Jones can stay on the waiver wire in standard-sized fantasy leagues for now.

Zay Jones Won't Play In Week 6
Zay Jones (hamstring) will not suit up in Week 6 at Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Jones was reinstated earlier this week after being suspended for the first five games of the season. However, the 29-year-old is nursing a hamstring injury and won't make his 2024 debut until at least Week 7 against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night. For now, he belongs on the waiver wire in the majority of fantasy leagues. When healthy, Jones will serve as receiver depth for the Cardinals behind rookie Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson and Greg Dortch. He'll be battling for playing time with the likes of Zach Pascal and rookie Xavier Weaver. In just nine games with the Jaguars in 2023, Jones had 34 receptions for 321 yards and two touchdown grabs.

Zay Jones Reinstated From His Suspension
Zay Jones was reinstated from his five-game suspension by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday and he can officially rejoin the team. However, the Cardinals are expected to request that they be given a roster exemption for one or two weeks for Jones after he was suspended under the league's personal-conduct policy. So the 29-year-old is unlikely to play in the upcoming Week 6 contest against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Jones will eventually be competing for the WR3 role in Arizona with Greg Dortch behind rookie Marvin Harrison Jr. and Michael Wilson. The former second-rounder of the Buffalo Bills in 2017 out of East Carolina belongs on the waiver wire in the vast majority of fantasy leagues. Jones played in nine games (seven starts) for the Jaguars in 2023 and had a 34-321-2 line for Jacksonville.
