Yuli Gurriel Leads Team With 17 July RBI
6 years agoHouston Astros first baseman Yuli Gurriel went 1-for-5 Tuesday night, including an RBI single in extra innings against the Rockies. Gurriel is now hitting .303 over his last 66 at-bats and leads the team with 17 RBI in the month of July. Since June 1, the 34-year-old is 51-for-160 (.318) with five home runs, 12 doubles and 38 RBI over the span of 40 games. Gurriel has been an absolute terror hitting with runners in scoring position, hitting .446 (37-for-87) with a .602 slugging percentage. Producing at that clip will be hard to sustain but Gurriel is clearly locked in at the plate right now. He may not have the power numbers to stand out among other fantasy first baseman but should continue to hit for a high average and currently is on pace for 82 runs batted in this season.
