Hendrick Motorsports driver William Byron secured the pole for Sunday's Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, becoming the youngest ever Cup driver (21 years) to lead the pack at the Memorial Day weekend race. He posted a lap of 29.440 seconds at 183.424 mph on Friday. "This is a dream come true," Byron said. "Obviously, I grew up in Charlotte and came to this race every year. So it's a dream come true to qualify on the pole with Hendrick Motorsports just across the street and all the hard work everybody at Chevrolet giving us fast race cars." Byron has just one Cup start under his belt on the Charlotte tri-oval, finishing 39th in last season's 600.--Daniel DobishRead More News
