6 years agoLos Angeles Chargers wide receiver Tyrell Williams was pushed into a more central role on Thursday night when No. 1 receiver Keenan Allen went down early in the game with a hip injury, and he made some key catches in the big-time win. While he hauled in six passes, Williams’ biggest moments of the game actually happened when the ball wasn’t in his hands. First, he was the target on both of quarterback Philips Rivers’ interceptions, and second, he was the target on a fourth-down try late in the fourth quarter where the defender was called for holding in the end zone. The fresh set of downs allowed LA to score a touchdown and continue their comeback. Williams’ future hinges on the severity of Allen’s injury, but if Allen will miss next week’s game, Williams becomes a valuable play.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
