Triston Casas Connects On Second Round-Tripper
Triston Casas went 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBI in his team's 8-3 win against the Seattle Mariners. The 25-year-old blasted his second dinger of the season off Mariners reliever Trent Thornton in the bottom of the seventh to give Boston a four-run lead, and they never looked back. It's been a slow few weeks for Casas, as he's gone 6-for-40 (.150) over his last 11 appearances with one extra-base hit, four RBI, and one run scored. The former first-round pick has been superb against left-handed pitchers this season (5-for-8), but struggled against righties to an abysmal .113 batting average. On the bright side, he's cut his strikeout rate by seven points from 2024. Still, it sits at an undesirable 24.1%.
