Trey Mancini Without Restrictions This Spring
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles outfielder Trey Mancini went through his first full-squad spring workout on Monday for the first time since he was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer last March. Mancini has been in Florida since Feb. 1 and started taking live batting practice on the field after a week. The 29-year-old has been cleared to play without restrictions this spring, but it's unknown how his body will respond to everyday baseball. There's obvious risk surrounding Mancini after he sat out all of last season, but he did hit 35 home runs with an .899 OPS in his last full season in 2019. So if Mancini stays healthy in 2021, he could wind up being a big value pick as outfield depth with a current ADP of 181. Fantasy managers will want to keep a close eye on how he progresses through Grapefruit League games.
