Tyquan Thornton Reps With First-Team Offense, Impressing Chiefs in Training Camp
Tyquan Thornton played the first three snaps of the team's first preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals. His usage "should make it clear how much the Chiefs have liked him in camp," according to Jesse Newell of The Athletic. With Marquise Brown (ankle) battling an ankle injury and Rashee Rice (groin) both fighting a groin issue and looking at a likely suspension to open the season, Thornton could have a chance to earn targets in Kansas City. A second-round pick by the New England Patriots in 2022, Thornton has yet to find his footing in the NFL. In 28 games (13 starts) with New England, he logged just 39 receptions for 385 yards and two touchdowns. However, it appears Thornton will be granted a second chance in Kansas City. He could be a name to monitor early in the season, given the team's uncertainty at wide receiver.
