Trevor Story Expected To Begin Rehab Assignment Within A Week
1 year agoBarring any setbacks, Boston Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story (elbow) is expected to start a minor-league rehab assignment within the week. Manager Alex Cora should have a specific date for the start of Story's rehab assignment on Tuesday. Story will get a maximum of 20 days on his rehab assignment, but it remains to be seen how long he'll be down on the farm. The 30-year-old veteran thinks he'll be playing shortstop for Boston by August, but the Red Sox won't rush him back to use him as the designated hitter. He has been out all year after having an internal-bracing procedure done on his right elbow in January. Story will be the team's starting shortstop when he returns, so fantasy managers may want to pick him up now off the waiver wire if he's still available.
