Trevor Story Continues To Demolish Spring Training
7 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story has been on a tear this spring, racking up an 1.118 OPS so far. After his sophomore season came up short in the contact department, Story has focused on being more patient at the plate, at least for him. Story led the National League in strikeouts last year, so his current spring whiff percentage of "just" 29% is actually a pretty substantial improvement. That said, owners should remain wary. Spring stats can be deceiving, and there's a lot more history to support Story is impatient and prone to tons of strikeouts than the alternative. He's still a solid shortstop, but whether his rookie performance can return remains to be seen.
