Tommy Pham Not Ready To Return
1 year agoNew York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) remains out of the starting lineup on Tuesday with the team taking on the New York Yankees. Pham was a pinch-hitter in Sunday's series finale against the Boston Red Sox, but he'll have to wait another day to get back into the starting lineup after dealing with a nagging right-groin injury that he's had since just before the All-Star break. Mark Canha is getting another start in left field and will hit eighth against Yankees right-hander Domingo German. Pham is a potential trade piece for the disappointing Mets as the Aug. 1 trade deadline nears, but he needs to get back on the field to boost his trade value. The 35-year-old veteran is batting a solid .271/.355/.472 on the year with nine home runs, 35 RBI, 11 stolen bases and 28 runs scored in 218 at-bats.
