Thomas Greiss Gets The Call On Tuesday
New York Islanders goaltender Thomas Greiss will guard the cage as his team faces the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center on Tuesday. The 33-year-old will make his first start since December 27th - a game in which he got yanked after giving up three goals on 11 shots in a 5-2 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks. With fellow netminder Semyon Varlamov having taken over starting duties, Greiss should bring the top of his game against a basement-dwelling Devils team in an attempt to win back more starts. He carries a 2.58 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage in 19 appearances in 2019-2020. Despite the Islanders playing on second night of a back-to-back, Greiss looks like a solid option in net for Tuesday.
