Tanner Scott Lands on Injured List With Elbow Inflammation
Tanner Scott (elbow) on the 15-day injured list with left-elbow inflammation and recalled right-hander Alexis Diaz from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move. It doesn't sound like Scott is dealing with any structural damage in his arm, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to return to L.A.'s bullpen in a few weeks. The 31-year-old veteran southpaw hasn't been that sharp in his first year with the Dodgers, pitching to a 4.14 ERA, 1.16 WHIP, 50 strikeouts and 19 saves. The Dodgers were already in the market for some bullpen upgrades at the trade deadline, and Scott's injury just ramps up the urgency for the defending World Series champs. With Evan Phillips out for the year and Michael Kopech, Brusdar Graterol and Blake Treinen on the IL, Kirby Yates and Alex Vesia figure to split save chances.
