Steelers Expected To Hire Arthur Smith As Offensive Coordinator
11 months agoThe Pittsburgh Steelers are expected to hire former Atlanta Falcons head coach Arthur Smith as their offensive coordinator, according to sources. Smith had a top running game as the Tennessee Titans' offensive coordinator before becoming the Falcons' head coach three years ago. He'll now be coaching Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren and company in Pittsburgh. Smith never got his offenses going in Atlanta, mainly because he never figured out the quarterback position. The situation is very similar in Pittsburgh, with Kenny Pickett potentially competing with Mason Rudolph (if he's re-signed) for the starting gig in training camp this summer. In Smith's defense, the Falcons did have the third-most rushing yards in 2022. If anything, the move to hire Smith will be good news for Harris and Warren in 2024.
