New Orleans Saints rookie safety Smoke Monday (knee) suffered what is believed to be a significant knee injury on Tuesday at training camp, according to sources. The undrafted free agent out of Auburn had drawn praise from teammate Tyrann Mathieu for his ability and study habits. Monday finished the 2021 season with 45 tackles, six passes defensed and one interception to earn second-team All-SEC accolades. The young defensive back plays with endless amounts of energy and stands out in zone coverage. He'll need to improve his coverage techniques when guarding a receiver one-on-one, but his work ethic isn't in question. It remains to be seen if Monday's knee injury will keep him out for all of his rookie season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
