Shane McClanahan Could Return in Late July
Shane McClanahan (triceps) has been slowly ramping up his progress. McClanahan has been unable to take the mound yet this season due to a lingering triceps issue. However, the southpaw has been throwing more and will begin doing side sessions soon. If all goes well, McClanahan can begin a rehab assignment and begin building up strength and stamina. The 28-year-old will throw off a mound on Tuesday and is scheduled for his first bullpen session on Friday. That being said, McClanahan appears to still have a long road ahead of him. The expectation is that McClanahan won't be back in the starting rotation until late July or early August. If possible, McClanahan can be stashed on the an empty IL spot, but isn't a must-have fantasy option given he won't take the mound in the big leagues for probably another two months.
