Seahawks Give Pete Carroll A Contract Extension
4 years agoThe Seattle Seahawks gave head coach Pete Carroll a multi-year contract extension on Sunday, all but ensuring that he will finish his decorated career in Seattle, according to league sources. One source said the belief is that the deal will tie Carroll to the team through the 2025 season, when he will be 74 years old. The 69-year-old is the NFL's oldest head coach, but the Seahawks remain one of the best teams in the league with a 6-1 record, and quarterback Russell Wilson is playing at an MVP level. Carroll is in his 11th season with Seattle and is the winningest head coach in franchise history with a 106-60-1 record. He's led the team to eight playoff appearances, four NFC West titles, two Super Bowl appearances and one Super Bowl win.
