Sam Montembeault re-signed with the Florida Panthers on a one-year, two-way contract on Sunday. The deal carries a $750,000 AVV with a $250,000 minors salary. Montembeault is an AHL goalie with NHL backup potential. He has 25 career NHL games with a 9-8-3 record that comes with an.892 SV% and a 3.20 GAA. With Sergei Bobrovsky and Spencer Knight ahead of him on the depth chart, it's unlikely Montembeault will play any significant time in the NHL this year barring an injury to the starting pair. The Becancour, Quebec native is only 24-years-old and could be a midseason add during the 2021-22 season if he does reach the NHL. He will have to battle with Christopher Gibson for the starting job with the Springfield Thunderbirds, Florida's AHL affiliate.--Naftali Clinton - RotoBallerRead More News
