Sam Darnold Clears Concussion Protocol, Still Questionable
3 years agoCarolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold (shoulder) has cleared the league's concussion protocol, but he remains questionable due to a shoulder injury and is expected to be a game-time decision in Week 9 against the New England Patriots. Darnold got off to a decent start in his first season in Carolina, but he's looked much more like the old New York Jets version of himself in the last four games, throwing two touchdowns to five interceptions and going over 200 yards passing just once. He was also benched late in the Week 7 loss to the New York Giants. The Patriots have made life difficult on opposing QBs this year, too, so Darnold really isn't even attractive in two-QB superflex leagues this week. If he cannot play, P.J. Walker would get the nod under center for Carolina.
