Ryan Tepera Best Candidate For Holds In Toronto
7 years agoToronto Blue Jays reliever Ryan Tepera isn’t a name that’s topping any fantasy owner’s wishlist, but if you’re in a league that utilizes holds as a statistical category, he’s someone you need to consider. Entering his fourth Major League season, Tepera is coming off a career-high in innings pitched (77.2) that saw him set a new career-best in strikeout rate (9.39 K/9). His ERA also increased from 2.95 to 3.59, but it’s fair to believe part of that may be associated with having more than double his previous career-high workload. Tepera should get plenty of hold opportunities en route to keeping the lead for closer Roberto Osuna, and would seem like the favorite for save chances should Osuna go down with an injury.
