JTG Daugherty Racing's Ryan Preece posted the best finish of his brief career, ending up third in Sunday's GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. His previous best was eighth, also on the superspeedway at Daytona in his Monster Energy Cup Series debut back in February. It was a tremendous finish for the small JTG team, the rookie and crew chief Brian Burns. Next up is a visit to the concrete at Dover International Speedway. It will be his first Cup start at DIS, although he has raced there on the Xfinity Series. He finished fourth at Dover on the Xfinity Series on Oct. 6, 2018 in his most recent start, finishing 10th in Stage 1 and eighth in Stage 2 for Joe Gibbs Racing.--Daniel Dobish
