Ryan Pepiot To Start Rehab Assignment Friday
1 year agoLos Angeles Dodgers right-hander Ryan Pepiot (oblique) will make his first minor-league rehab start on Friday for Triple-A Oklahoma City. Pepiot is getting close to making his 2023 debut for the Dodgers as a starting-rotation option, but first he'll have to get through a rehab assignment in the minors. He's been recovering from a left-oblique strain that he aggravated in early May. The 25-year-old made his big-league debut for the Blue in 2022 and went 3-0 with a 3.47 ERA (5.42 FIP), 1.46 WHIP, 27 walks and 42 strikeouts in 36 1/3 frames over nine outings (seven starts). Pepiot's 26.3 percent strikeout rate was nice last year, but he's going to need to lower his 16.9 percent walk rate if he's going to find any kind of success for LA in the second half of the season.
