The Anaheim Ducks scored three goals in the first period and held on to defeat the Buffalo Sabres by a score of 3-2 on Sunday. Veteran goalie Ryan Miller turned aside 31 of 33 shots for the win. He’s played very well in three out of his last four appearances. Ryan Getzlaf scored his 12th goal of the season and now has 37 points through 54 games this season. Jakob Silfverberg scored a goal and has twice hit the twine over his last three games. He has 32 points through 51 games. Nick Richie also found the back of the net for just the sixth time this season. Sophomore defender Rasmus Dahlin scored his fourth goal for Buffalo in the losing effort.
