Rasmus Andersson Appeals His Suspension
1 year agoCalgary Flames defenseman Rasmus Andersson has officially appealed his four-game suspension. He sat out his first game of the suspension Sunday versus Detroit. If there's no change to the length of Andersson's suspension, the Swedish blue-liner will be forced to skip an entire week of action, including a special Heritage Classic matchup against Edmonton this coming Sunday. Calgary struggled badly against the Red Wings and lost 6-2. Chris Tanev replaced Andersson as Noah Hanifin's partner on the first defensive pairing and both finished the contest with a minus-two rating. Andersson's absence has also resulted in changes on the power-play units, as Hanifin moved up on Sunday and MacKenzie Weegar joined the second unit.
