Ranger Suarez Likely To Start On Sunday
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies left-hander Ranger Suarez (hamstring) felt good after throwing a live batting practice session on Monday and is scheduled to throw a bullpen on Friday. If that goes well, he's likely to return from the injured list to start on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers. The Phillies put the 28-year-old southpaw on the shelf on Aug. 19 due to a right-hamstring strain, but he's made good progress and is on the cusp of a return to the team's starting rotation. Fantasy managers might want to think twice before using the Venezuelan hurler in starting lineups against a red-hot Brewers squad this weekend, but he's pitched well overall this year to the tune of a 3.88 ERA (3.89 FIP), 1.43 WHIP, 35 walks and 89 strikeouts in 97 1/3 innings over his 17 starts.
