Ranger Suarez Cruises Through Third Rehab Start
Ranger Suarez (back) pitched five scoreless innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley in his most recent rehab outing -- collecting a win against the first-place Columbus Clippers. The 29-year-old was solid, allowing two hits and two walks while striking out five. Through 12 minor league innings, he's let up just six hits and one earned run -- punching out 16 batters. Suarez built up to 59 pitches in this start (eight swinging strikes), and is scheduled for his fourth rehab outing this Sunday. It's possible that plan changes, considering fellow SP Cristopher Sanchez (forearm) left his start against the New York Mets on Tuesday with forearm soreness. Still, there's been no further update on his status. Currently, Suarez is on track to return to the team in early May.
