Rachaad White To Take Over Bucs Backfield?
2 years agoThe Athletic's Greg Auman predicts that Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie running back Rachaad White will take over as the team's primary back by season's end. Leonard Fournette has disappointed this year, and his 3.3 yard-per-carry average is the worst in the NFL in the last three seasons. He doesn't have a run longer than 17 yards, and White is slowly seeing more work and reps. Fournette had more snaps than White in Week 9, but White had more rushing yards. Fournette will continue to lose work if he continues to underperform. He has only $2 million guaranteed on his 2023 base salary, but cutting him next year would result in $5 million in dead salary cap money, as opposed to an $8.5 million cap hit if they keep him. The bottom line is that White needs to be scooped up if he's available on your league's waiver wire.
