Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Petr Mrazek was solid in the season opener, stopping 33 of 36 shots and shutting out the Montreal Canadiens in the shootout to secure his first win. Mrazek will have the opportunity to take hold of the starting position this season after splitting time with Curtis McElhinney in 2018-2019. His backup for this season will be James Reimer, who had been Roberto Luongo's backup in Florida for the past three seasons. Mrazek will need to continue his stellar play, as Reimer has proven to take games away from his starter in the past, playing close to half of the team's games in Florida during his time as the backup. --Nate Duffett
