Tampa Bay Rays right-hander Pete Fairbanks tossed a scoreless 10th inning to secure a 7-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday. Fairbanks walked one and struck out one while throwing 15 pitches to pick up his fourth save in as many chances this season. The veteran closer has been a reliable reliever for the Rays this season, posting a 2-1 record, 2.89 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, and nine strikeouts over 9 1/3 innings of work. He will look to convert more save chances as the Rays open up a weekend series against the San Diego Padres starting Friday.--Matt Terelle
