Paul DeJong Resting On Wednesday
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong is not in the starting lineup on Wednesday against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Although DeJong does have 10 home runs on the season, his slash line of .169/.271/.354 leaves a lot to be desired from a fantasy perspective in his 178 at-bats. He also has just eight hits in 54 at-bats (.148 average) in the month of June, so perhaps a day off will help him out. Edmundo Sosa is starting at shortstop and is hitting eighth against Diamondbacks right-hander Riley Smith on Wednesday. Sosa is batting .254/.343/.325 on the year with a homer, seven RBI and three steals in 143 plate appearances. He's a low-upside DFS play, but he does have four hits in his last three appearances for the Red Birds.
