Chicago White Sox starting pitcher
Shane Smith had his swing-and-miss stuff working for him during Thursday's game against the Seattle Mariners. The right-hander gave up a two-run blast to
Randy Arozarena, but was solid outside of that. He tossed five innings, allowing two runs on four hits while striking out a career-high eight batters in the no-decision. The 25-year-old has been one of the few bright spots for this White Sox rotation this season. He'll take a 4.22 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and a 93/42 K/BB ratio across 20 starts into his next outing against the Detroit Tigers. He'll offer some deep league streaming appeal for that one.

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher
Logan Gilbert put together a solid performance on the mound during Thursday's game against the Chicago White Sox. The right-hander gave up a solo home run to
Michael A. Taylor, but was sharp outside of that. Gilbert tossed five innings, allowing one run on five hits, while striking out six in a no-decision. It hasn't been a great season for Gilbert, but he has allowed three earned runs or less in four of his last five starts. He'll take a 3.35 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 118/21 K/BB ratio into his next outing against the Baltimore Orioles.

Brandon Young will get at least one more turn in the starting rotation. According to Jake Rill, Young is slated to take the ball versus the Athletics on Saturday. The O's don't have many healthy arms right now with
Zach Eflin (back),
Kyle Bradish (elbow), and
Tyler Wells (elbow) all sidelined. Young has been better on the mound lately with only two earned runs over his last 10.2 innings of work. Despite some recent success, Young isn't someone that needs to be rostered in fantasy formats right now.

Cincinnati Reds starting pitcher
Nick Martinez is slated to take the mound for Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Martinez shifted to the bullpen after the team acquired
Zack Littell at the trade deadline. However, Martinez will return to the rotation with
Nick Lodolo (finger) being placed on the injured list. Most recently, Martinez tossed 2.1 innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits in relief of Lodolo on Monday. This season, Martinez has a 4.66 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and a 93/31 K/BB ratio across 25 games (22 starts) with the Reds this season. He should have some low-end streaming appeal for Saturday's outing.

Athletics outfield prospect
Colby Thomas hit his first MLB home run during their victory over the Washington Nationals on Thursday afternoon. Thomas tallied his lone hit of the game with a two-run shot in the opening frame off
Mitchell Parker, which scored
Darell Hernaiz. Later in the fourth, Thomas would tack on his third RBI of the contest with a sacrifice fly, which brought in Hernaiz for the second time. This is Thomas' second stint in the big leagues. Through 16 career games in the majors, Thomas has posted a modest .156/.243/.313 line. However, he has not seen consistent at-bats as the Athletics outfield is quite deep. For now, Thomas remains a target for deeper AL-only redraft leagues. If he can continue to produce, he could carve out a starting role for the 2026 season.

New York Yankees shortstop prospect
George Lombard Jr. was able to snap out of his slump on Thursday evening, facing Double-A Binghamton. In this contest, Lombard went 1-for-4 with a solo shot. Over his previous seven games entering Thursday, Lombard held a .160/.276/.240 line with one double and no home runs. Since joining Double-A Somerset earlier this season, Lombard has struggled to find much consistency as he has held a .208/.321/.347 line with a modest .668 OPS. Through 75 games, he has hit six home runs, swiped 16 bags, and held an 80:40 K:BB. Earlier in the season, Lombard spent time with High-A and posted an elite .329 AVG with a .983 OPS. Given his struggles, Lombard may not be in the mix to join Triple-A until later in 2026.

Detroit Tigers catching prospect
Josue Briceno has continued to turn the corner at Double-A. On Thursday evening, the backstop hit his third home run over his last five contests. During his last six games, Briceno has only gone hitless once and held a solid .292/.308/.708 slash line over this stretch. However, during his first 13 games at Double-A Erie, the No. 51-ranked prospect in on MLB.com posted a low .191/.278/.234 line with just two doubles and a 14:6 K:BB. Earlier in the season, the 20-year-old logged 51 games at High-A West Michigan and was very productive, posting a .296/.422/.602 line with an impressive 1.024 OPS. He was eventually promoted to Double-A alongside top prospects
Max Clark and
Kevin McGonigle. The backstop could push for an early promotion to Triple-A next summer if he can continue to turn the corner.

Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect
Jesus Made hit his first High-A long ball on Thursday evening during their contest against Peoria. In this game, Made went 2-for-5 with two runs, four RBI, a strikeout, and a long ball. This was also his first multi-hit game since joining High-A Wisconsin. Through his first two games at the level, Made went 1-for-9 with a triple, two runs, and an RBI, and a 4:1 K:BB. The 18-year-old spent the entire first half of the campaign at Low-A and flashed immense upside. Through 83 contests, Made posted a stellar .267/.373/.388 slash line with 21 doubles, three triples, four home runs, and an impressive 40 stolen bases. He currently sits as the top-ranked prospect in the Milwaukee system and the No. 7 overall on MLB.com. Despite being several seasons away from his MLB debut, he is a must-watch prospect for dynasty managers as he progresses through the minor leagues.

Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop/outfield prospect
Konnor Griffin continued to swing a scorching hot bat at High-A on Thursday evening. Facing Asheville, Griffin went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, two walks, and a home run. This performance extended his current hitting streak to six games. During this stretch, Griffin has gone deep twice, swiped four bags, and held a 1.116 OPS. Overall, the 19-year-old has looked quite comfortable since moving up to High-A earlier this summer. Through 42 games at this level, the budding superstar has posted a .323/.429/.525 slash line with a .924 OPS, 10 doubles, six home runs, and 24 stolen bases. Fantasy managers should keep a close eye on Griffin as he is quickly ascending prospect boards. He could push to debut in the upper levels of the Pittsburgh system as early as 2026.

Los Angeles Angels outfield prospect
Nelson Rada went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run during their contest against Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday evening. This was his first three-hit game since earning a promotion to Triple-A. During his first three games at Triple-A, Rada tallied at least one hit in all of them, but did not hit one for extra bases. He has also swiped four bags throughout these four total games. The 19-year-old opened the campaign with Double-A and needed just 93 games to prove he was ready to join the top ranks in the minor leagues. Through 93 games at Double-A Rocket City, Rada posted a .277/.380/.332 line with a .712 OPS. Given Los Angeles' aggressiveness when it comes to promoting prospects, the 19-year-old has an outside chance to open the 2026 season with the Angels.

Chicago Cubs outfield prospect
Kevin Alcantara went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer in a 6-5 loss against Triple-A St. Paul. Alcantara had been struggling a tad since the calendar flipped to August, with three hits in 16 at-bats to go with seven strikeouts, but belted a homer off left-handed starter
Kendry Rojas on Thursday to break the slight cold streak. There has been a noticeable difference in his performance against left-handed pitching compared to right-handers, with a 1.007 OPS against lefties and a .732 OPS against righties. The sample is much smaller, with only 76 plate appearances against southpaws and 231 against righties, but he's seen them quite well this year. The 6'6" outfielder has some swing and miss flaws with a strikeout rate north of 30 percent, but has also flashed an intriguing power and speed skillset with 14 homers and nine steals on the year.

Miami Marlins left-handed pitching prospect
Robby Snelling allowed five hits and a walk while striking out 11 across six scoreless innings as he picked up the win against Triple-A Nashville. Snelling mowed through hitters with his fastball and curveball combo in Thursday's outing, generating 22 whiffs in total on 50 swings. The 21-year-old tied his season high in punchouts and has struck out a whopping 29 batters over his last three starts in 18.2 innings. Coming to Miami in the
Tanner Scott deal at last year's trade deadline, Snelling has been much better this season after posting a 5.15 ERA across Double-A and Triple-A in 2024. He pitched most of 2025 at Double-A before being promoted on July 10. For the season, he owns a 3.06 ERA, 1.15 WHIP, and a 119:27 K:BB ratio in 100 innings between the two levels.

New York Mets right-handed pitching prospect
Brandon Sproat picked up the win against Triple-A Charlotte, allowing three runs on three hits and two walks while striking out four in six innings. Sproat wasn't quite as dominant in this outing as he'd been previously, but still limited damage effectively and pitched well enough to earn the win. It's been an incredible stretch for the right-hander dating back to June 28, allowing only six runs (five earned) in that span, which comes out to a 1.15 ERA to go with 43 strikeouts in 39 innings. Leading up to that point, it had been a real struggle for Sproat as he held a 5.95 ERA and a 43:32 K:BB ratio in 62 innings. The 24-year-old has flipped his season around and will look to finish out the season on a high note.

St. Louis Cardinals left-handed pitching prospect
Quinn Mathews allowed only two hits and a walk while striking out nine across seven scoreless frames on Thursday against Triple-A Durham. This dominant outing was the lefty's longest start of the season, and he matched his season high for strikeouts. He generated 21 whiffs on 50 swings, with his changeup doing a lot of heavy lifting, accounting for 13 of them. Mathews doesn't throw very hard, and the walks have been an issue for him this year. His command will be an area to monitor as he progresses. It's been a mixed season overall for the 24-year-old, holding a 3.63 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and a 72:50 K:BB ratio in 62 innings at Triple-A.

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher
Bryce Miller (elbow) completed his second rehab start with Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, allowing four runs on four hits and two walks with five strikeouts in 3 ⅔ innings, reports Tim Booth of The Seattle Times. He threw 66 pitches with 47 strikes. Most of the damage came from three home runs, and this obviously wasn't the most impressive rehab performance. Still, it's encouraging to see him toss 66 healthy pitches, and his fastball velocity was completely back to normal, with a 95.9 mph average on his four-seamer. The 26-year-old could potentially make his next start in the majors, however, Seattle may feel he needs one more rehab start to get back up to speed.
