1 day agoNew York Giants tight end Darren Waller caught all three of his targets for just 21 yards in the team's blowout loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Two of Waller's receptions came on the second-to-last drive for Big Blue. The Giants' offense, once again, sputtered in the primetime lights. Quarterback Daniel Jones was sacked 11 times, threw two interceptions, and lost a fumble. It's getting harder for fantasy managers to trust Waller. However, given the state of the tight end position, there aren't many high-upside options on waiver wires better than the ex-Raider. Waller and the Giants will try and kickstart their offense in Miami in Week 5.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

1 day agoDenver Broncos running back Javonte Williams (hip) sustained a hip-flexor injury during Week 4's 31-28 comeback win over the Chicago Bears, and he isn't expected to miss much time, if any, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. Williams took only 17% of Denver's offensive snaps before exiting on Sunday, handling two carries for no gain and three catches for nine yards. Undrafted rookie Jaleel McLaughlin burst onto the scene for 104 total yards and a touchdown on Sunday while presumed No. 2 back Samaje Perine plodded his way to 12 yards on six carries with two receptions for 23 yards. It's great to hear Williams isn't dealing with anything serious as he continues working his way back from a 2022 torn ACL with just 138 yards on 38 carries and 11 catches for 51 yards so far this year. It sounds as if the 23-year-old is on the right side of questionable ahead of practice for Week 5 versus the New York Jets.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

1 day agoNew York Giants running back Matt Breida rushed the ball 14 times for 30 yards but turned five receptions into 48 more yards in the team's 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. His highlight of the night (which was also the Giants' longest play of the game) came on a 22-yard catch when quarterback Daniel Jones scrambled out of the pocket and found the running back jetting down the field. This could be the curtain call for Breida, who was filling in for starter Saquon Barkley (ankle). Barkley is aiming to return for the Giants' Week 5 matchup against Miami. If he doesn't, Breida will be serviceable as a flex option for fantasy football managers.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

1 day agoNew York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 203 yards and rushed for another 66 in the team's 24-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football. Similar to Jones' night in their season opener against Dallas, the veteran quarterback was relentlessly pressured in the pocket. When the final whistle blew, Jones had been sacked on 11 occasions and turned the ball over three times. The Giants' offense, once again, looked like one of the worst units in the league. Jones can't be trusted in fantasy lineups until this offense shows any signs of life. The Giants travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins in Week 5.--Andrew Ball - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

1 day agoBaltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh says running back Keaton Mitchell (shoulder) could be activated from injured reserve this week, per Jonas Shaffer of TheBaltimoreBanner.com. Mitchell hurt his shoulder during an Aug. 21 preseason exhibition, forcing him to IR ahead of the regular season. The 21-year-old undrafted rookie could assume the roster spot of veteran Melvin Gordon III, who has bounced back and forth from the practice squad this season, if he is reinstated before Week 5's divisional tilt with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mitchell was a curiously hot waiver wire add on Yahoo ahead of Week 4, but his role is unlikely to translate into fantasy value at this time behind Gus Edwards and Justice Hill.--Joseph Barbati - RotoBallerSource: ESPN

1 day agoSeattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith briefly left Monday night's game with a potential knee injury that needed further evaluation. After Drew Lock took over for a few drives in the second quarter, Smith returned at the beginning of the second half. He's only thrown two total incompletions so far in this game and has led them on a touchdown drive where he found DK Metcalf in the endzone. With Smith being back, the value of the team's pass catchers should return to normal against a Giants defensive unit that has had a number of mistakes.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBallerSource: Brady Henderson

1 day agoSeattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith (knee) left Monday night's game to receive further evaluation on his knee after he was tackled awkwardly out of bounds in the second quarter. Smith briefly showed frustration with the opposing defensive back who tackled him and then was replaced by Drew Lock. It seems like the team is going to get some X-rays and do some tests before allowing Smith back into the game. Fantasy managers will want to stay tuned for more updates as halftime approaches.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBallerSource: Brady Henderson
Share:
1 day agoSeattle Seahawks safety Jamal Adams (concussion) has officially been ruled out for the rest of the Monday night contest against the Giants. This was Adams' first game back since Week 1 of last season, but he is now being evaluated for a concussion after a collision on the game's opening drive. When healthy, Adams is a huge addition to this defensive unit, especially in the pass rush. The good news is that Adams will have the bye week in his favor to get through the concussion protocol and return for a Week 6 matchup against Cincinnati.--Alex Fischbein - RotoBallerSource: Tom Pelissero

1 day agoThe Green Bay Packers worked out free-agent running back James Robinson on Monday. Robinson is still trying to latch on with an NFL team after the New York Giants released him during training camp in August. The former undrafted free agent burst onto the scene in his rookie year in 2020 with the Jacksonville Jaguars with 1,070 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while adding 49 receptions (60 targets) for an additional 49 yards and three scores. He scored a career-high eight rushing touchdowns the following year but has fallen off a cliff ever since. In 11 games with the Jaguars and New York Jets in 2022, Robinson had 110 carries for 425 yards and three TDs and has struggled to latch on with a team since. If the 25-year-old lands in Green Bay, he'd be serving as RB depth behind Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon, rookie Emanuel Wilson and Patrick Taylor.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

1 day agoMiami Dolphins left tackle Terron Armstead (knee) "will not be playing in the next game but will play again this season, according to head coach Mike McDaniel. The oft-injured Armstead suffered a knee injury in the Week 4 loss to the division-rival Buffalo Bills on Sunday and is now considered week-to-week. He will be not be available when the Dolphins take on the New York Giants in Week 5. Armstead left the stadium in Buffalo on crutches. The 32-year-old veteran has played in two of the team's four games to begin the year, but the good news is he will return this year. Expect Kendall Lamm to start at left tackle for the Dolphins for however long Armstead is sidelined.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques

1 day agoBaltimore Ravens linebacker David Ojabo (ankle, knee) has a decision to make on whether his ankle/knee injury will end his 2023 season, according to head coach John Harbaugh. Ojabo was injured in the Week 3 overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts and was placed on Injured Reserve, so he must sit out at least four games. It will likely come down to whether the 23-year-old decides to go under the knife. Ojabo was the team's second-round selection last year out of Michigan. He played in just two games in his rookie year due to injury and might finish his sophomore campaign with only three games played.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: BaltimoreRavens.com - Ryan Mink

1 day agoLos Angeles Rams tight end Tyler Higbee (thumb) "got his thumb banged up a little bit" in the Week 4 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts, according to head coach Sean McVay. Higbee was questionable going into Sunday's win over the Colts with an Achilles injury, but he ended up suiting up and caught five of a season-high 11 targets for 64 yards. The 30-year-old has yet to find the end zone in the first four games, but he's been respectable as a low-end TE1 for fantasy managers with 16 receptions on 26 targets for 196 yards as the TE9 in half-PPR scoring. His thumb injury shouldn't cause him to miss the Week 5 meeting with the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday. However, the impending return of receiver Cooper Kupp (hamstring) is inevitably going to take valuable targets away from Higbee.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: TheRams.com - Stu Jackson
Share:
1 day agoLos Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford (hip) suffered a hip contusion in the Week 4 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts, but head coach Sean McVay said that Stafford "should be good" to go for Week 5 against the Philadelphia Eagles this Sunday. "We'll be smart with him, but he should be good to go," McVay said. "He's a stud, and obviously we saw him gut through that yesterday. Definitely took a good shot there. But we feel like he should be good to go." Stafford isn't expected to be limited in practice this week, but McVay said, "we'll see." He was seen limping in Sunday's victory and is "nice and sore" on Monday. The 35-year-old veteran is the QB14 in fantasy after four weeks and could be getting top wideout Cooper Kupp (hamstring) back for the first time this year against Philly.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: TheRams.com - Stu Jackson
Share:
1 day agoLos Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said running back Kyren Williams (hip) suffered a hip contusion in the Week 4 overtime win over the Indianapolis Colts. Williams was able to finish the game, though, and it ended up being his best game of the year. The 23-year-old finished with 127 total yards and two rushing touchdowns on the day on his 28 touches. Fantasy managers shouldn't be surprised if Williams is limited in some practices this week, but he should be able to play in Week 5 this Sunday in a showdown against the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles. With Cam Akers out of the picture, Williams is LA's unquestioned lead back for the foreseeable future, giving him weekly RB2 value.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: TheRams.com - Stu Jackson

1 day agoSeattle Seahawks tight ends Will Dissly (shoulder) and Noah Fant (knee) are both officially active for the Monday night contest against the New York Giants. Both Dissly and Fant came in with questionable designations, but they'll both suit up to close out Week 4 action. Dissly was held out of last week's win over the Carolina Panthers and will return to split the pass-catching workload with Fant. In his first two games, Dissly put up just five catches for 52 yards. Fant has recorded eight receptions for 97 yards in his three games played in 2023. The passing game in Seattle still runs through receivers DK Metcalf and Tyler Metcalf, which makes both Dissly and Fant touchdown-dependent TE2 options in starting fantasy lineups.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Seahawks PR
