The fight was extremely close, and interestingly enough, the first half of his fight played out on the feet; however, in the third round, Evloev started wrestling, scoring a takedown and closing strong with a late flurry to edge the round. Evloev was also deducted a point in the fourth round for a second illegal groin kick. The final scorecards read 48-46, 48-46 and 47-47 in favor of Evloev, including a fourth-round point deduction.
