Florida was kind to Joe Highsmith in the four tournaments played in 2025, racking up a win, two top 25s, and a missed cut. The 24-year-old has received such a jolt of life since switching to the warm seasoned grass in Mexico that has propelled him into 18th in the FedEx Cup points race. He's averaging +0.886 strokes gained putting and +0.508 in strokes gained on approach over his last five starts. That recipe is good enough to hang around most places, but his higher proficiency from beyond 175 yards makes him especially appealing here. At $9,700 on FanDuel, Highsmith has a lot to like heading into Thursday.--Todd McGill - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

It wasn't a good run in Florida for Adam Hadwin, as he missed the cut at both The Players and Valspar Championships and was the center of attention on X last week for busting a sprinkler head in frustration. It's easy to see why, as the Canadian averaged -1.41 strokes gained on approach during the two days. It was the third event in his last four starts losing strokes with the irons, and driving the ball has been even worse, with an average of -0.577 over his last four starts. For someone with a decent course history at Memorial Park, it will be interesting to see if he can change with the tide as the PGA Tour rolls into Houston. However, he isn't worth the risk of playing him in most DFS circumstances.--Todd McGill - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Before his last two starts, Ben Griffin was having a stellar start to the 2025 season. The last two starts in Florida were not kind to Griffin, with missed cuts at The PLAYERS Championship and the Valspar Championship. This week's venue is Memorial Park Golf Course, where the longer hitters have the advantage, as the course plays 7,500 yards and possibly longer, with unpredictable wind. Griffin has driven the ball very well this year, ranking 21st in total driving. Players will also be tested with long approach shots, with just under 33% coming from distances of 200 yards or more. He has been solid in that department, ranking 86th on tour. If you're looking for a value play in DFS this week, Griffin may be a viable option.--Jake Walker - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

It has been a rough stretch over the last couple of events for Nick Dunlap, as he has posted true strokes gained averages of -3.78 and -3.57 in strokes gained off the tee en route to missing back-to-back cuts at The Players and the API. That type of performance won't get things done, even at a place like Memorial Park, that isn't very demanding off the tee. However, he also isn't doing anything too noteworthy anywhere else either. He finished T11 at this event last season, which was aided by gaining over four strokes on the greens, but he hasn't seen production close to that since making the jump to bermudagrass greens this season. At $8,300 on FanDuel, Dunlap is always an easy person to take a chance on each week. But the warning signs are there to seek other options if compelled to. --Todd McGill - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

After missing the cut at last week's Valspar Championship, Jake Knapp is looking for redemption at Memorial Park. Prior to last week, Knapp was as hot as any golfer on tour with four straight top 25 finishes. Memorial Park is a venue that caters to longer hitters, as just under 33% of approach shots come from 200+ yards. Knapp has excelled in approach shots over 200 yards, ranking 19th on tour. His putter has also been hot this year, gaining 0.602 strokes and ranking 11th. He is a prime bounce-back candidate this week and is a solid play in DFS.--Jake Walker - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

Max Greyserman finally had one of those weekends at The Players Championship. The American golfer, born in New Jersey, missed the cut behind a 74 and 78. That came on the heels of three straight Top 25 results. Greyserman has played well this season with a Top 10 at The American Express (T-7). Most of his approach to the green metrics have curved to average (-0.004 strokes gained for example). However, he averages 28.7 putts per round anchored by 27.43 putts in the final round. Getting close to the hole is vital for Greyserman. He ranks 147th in putts beyond 25 feet (3.42%). However, he is best in the 10 to 15-foot range (19th on tour). At +6000, Greyserman could be a reasonable longer shot option for this weekend at the Houston Open. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Sam Stevens needs a positive turn in his golf game. The American golfer has struggled to make the weekend in each of his last four tournaments. He missed twice and was close at the Valspar Championship. Stevens then faltered further with a 75-73 to finish outside the Top 50 (T-64). Too many erratic rounds has wrecked Stevens birdie average (3.72 -126th). Not surprisingly, Stevens has a scoring average of 70.64 which ranks 109th. Add in putts per round which is up to 29.19 and 142nd. Stevens has to do more work to stay under par. At +8000 on DraftKings, Stevens is a long shot to put things together on what could be a tournament plagued by weather issues. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Sam Ryder is coming off consecutive top-20 finishes. The American golfer played well enough to contend at The Players Championship and then the Valspar Championship. That is not easy to do, and he finished T14 and T16, respectively. Ryder has been quite consistent, making all eight cuts. Furthermore, he has only had one round worse than a 72 (74 at the Farmers in January). This may not be a recipe to win, but Ryder has a chance to contend and factor into DFS plans. Ryder's putter has been excellent, ranking second in strokes gained at 0.861. While some see regression coming, Ryder approaches the greens well, too, (47th at 0.352 strokes gained). Ryder is plus-320 to finish inside the top 20 for a reason. With slower greens expected due to rain, the American could get a boost in Texas.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Patrick Rodgers wants to throw the last two opening rounds in Florida away. The American golfer started off on the wrong foot after a 74 and then a 76 to open The Players Championship. Before that missed cut, Rodgers had four straight Top 25 results. This included a T-3 at The Genesis Invitational. Unfortunately, the problem may be the weather. The key to this tournament early may be when Rodgers tees off. That can be said for a lot of golfers but with average metrics in putting and approach (-0024 and -.0095 strokes gained respectively), Rodgers hopes to get started early. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Andrew Novak heads to Houston in an effort to find his golf game again. The American golfer has made five cuts and missed five cuts in 2025. It has been a roller coaster ride alternating between cuts and close brushes with contention. Since the outright third at the Farmers Insurance Open, Novak seems to have one or two erratic rounds every event. At the Valspar, Novak looked solid until a final round 75 derailed any contention hopes. Approaching the green has been a mixed bag but Novak ranks 126th in strokes gained at -0.226. Novak could again struggle given the potential for changing weather conditions later this week.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Keith Mitchell has had some nice first rounds of late. The American golfer started off well with a 67 at the Valspar Championship. After that, some erratic shots and missed putts led to Mitchell winding up +2 after four rounds and outside the Top 50. Mitchell has not finished inside the Top 20 once in 2025. He has been great off the tee but putting metrics are slightly below average. Mitchell ranks 115th in strokes gained to putting at -0.108. Worse, he is averaging 30 putts per final round which is more than a full round above the first three. Mitchell's lack of finishing makes it hard to play him from a DFS perspective or make a bet on a Top 20 placement. However, he could start well providing he has a good tee time. --Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGATour.com

Maverick McNealy had a very nice 2025 to start. However, the American golfer has missed the cut in his previous two events. Worse, the Florida type of weather most are used to seeing is expected in Texas for Thursday and Friday perhaps. It is strange that McNealy took a few weeks off after the Genesis Invitational and everything skewed off. Seeing two second rounds of 80 or worse is rare but it happened. The greens should be slow for most if not all four rounds. McNealy stands at +5000 on DraftKings but it is hard to be sure of even what to expect from a DFS standpoint. For what it is worth, the last two events have thrown several main metrics off kilter. It may be best to see how McNealy performs first at the Texas Children's Houston Open.--Chris Wassel - RotoBallerSource: PGA Tour

Jason Day finished tied for eighth at the Arnold Palmer Invitational earlier this month and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Texas Children's Houston Open, held at Memorial Park Golf Course. So far in 2025, he has not missed a cut, although he did miss the cut at this event last year. Over the past 12 months, Day ranks in the 29th percentile for proximity to the hole on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is noteworthy because, at last year's Texas Children's Houston Open, over 38% of approach shots came from this distance. Day may go overlooked in fantasy lineups this week, but including him carries some risk.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

Kevin Yu finished tied for 12th at last week's Valspar Championship and is now focusing on preparing for this week's Texas Children's Houston Open, which will take place at Memorial Park Golf Course. So far in 2025, Yu has three top-20 finishes but also missed three cuts. Over the past 12 months, he ranks in the 86th percentile for proximity to the hole on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is particularly relevant because last year at the Texas Children's Houston Open, over 38% of approach shots came from this distance. While Yu has shown strong performances at times this season, his inconsistency makes him a risky inclusion in DFS lineups this week.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf

J.J. Spaun finished second at The PLAYERS Championship two weeks ago, losing to Rory McIlroy in a playoff. He is now focusing on preparing for this week's Texas Children's Houston Open, which will take place at Memorial Park Golf Course. Last year, Spaun tied for 36th in this event and has not missed the cut so far in 2025. Over the past 12 months, he has ranked in the 74th percentile for proximity to the hole on approach shots from 150-200 yards in the fairway. This is significant because over 38% of approach shots during last year's Texas Children's Houston Open came from that distance. Spaun could be a valuable addition to DFS lineups this week.--Ian Christenson - RotoBallerSource: Data Golf
